Hello future top golfers . I first went to too golf at the colony location in texas and had a blast! Service and staff were amazing. So when i heard top golf was coming to my home town in California i was beyond excited to olan a cisit back home with friends to celebrate my birthday. Booked ahead paid deposit and everything was all set.
We arrived ar our set time of 8pm and got to our bays as we booked two for the birthday celebration. Our server carlos greeted us but then had to go on break.
We were given a replacement server names nicole . Who soon became a nightmare we placed some food and drink orders then about 10 mins later my friend had a change of mind and wanted to change her order. And this is when the drama started. Nicole tells my friend she will not replace her order change (that we just put in and haven’t received) yet. This made no reasonable sense to us because since when are we not allowed to change our mind about what we want to eat and i havent even gotten the original order yet ?!
I then approach the floor manager Terra and asked what the issue was and to why my friend could not change the order. Terra had a nice nasty attitude and showed 0 empathy or actual listening skills when i tried to speak with her. She gave me a quick response to shut me up stating “she already changed it”
By this time is is now 830-845 and we havent even gotten drinks yet . No water no nothing ! When we asked if we could get water nicole states “its a tuesday night, and there busy” …
Our food came shortly after the drink request and we got the very item my friend stated she dis not want ! A neighboring party arrives when we started to get food items . And the received water even before us who had been there for almost an hour out of our 2 hour time slot !
We then had to request the manager for the night and place a formal complaint with Martika . Who was a great listener and took ownership for the faults of her team. She sent notice to the sales manager brandi and i am currently waiting to here the result of all of this. As a guest who flew intown for a birthday party with friends i was very disappointed with the customer service of employees NICOLE AND TERRA ! and recommend some serious customer service training, listening skills , and empathy. side note especially with this being a Southern California location treating ppl that way can easily lead to an escalation or physical altercations. Please train yur employees to deescalation skills , because these young ladies SUCK ! 0 stars DO NOT RECCOMEND ! I was initially skeptical of how an establishment like this would fair in the inland empire given that there are already many established restaurants and golf courses nearby. This isn’t your grandpas golf course. Pros: Top golf excels at bringing the lively bar and restaurant atmosphere into one of Americas favorite sports. For all of my friends when I describe how it works I basically say it’s bowling/archery combined with a driving range for the game portion. The food is exceptional. Some of the best burgers, wings, and appetizers I’ve ever had in the I.E. I’ve been about 3-4 times so far and each time was very consistent in terms of quality (which isn’t always common for establishments that have been only around for a few months). Drinks are Fair. I am not much of a drinker but the few beers I got were their usual taste/flavor ( not foamy/ aerated ✅) Service: 10/10 in terms of effort. Very attentive and helpful -Decor: Professional Grade. Scents so fresh and floors so clean OutKast could write a song about them 🎵. I’d say it’s a mix of modern/futuristic designs with sleek leading lines and muted colors.
Cons: The large concept is good for what they are achieving; however, this does mean that servers and staff half to walk longer distances to drop off drinks/food than usual. Personally I’ve never had a cold burger/warm beer from them but I can see this as a potential con for people on the corners of the building. LK’s Recommendation: order at the bar and then walk to your golf spot if you’re farther than 4 slots from the center (also easier on the workers ❤️). Service: while this is mainly a minor/infrequent thing sometimes service can be inconsistent. The effort/presentation is definitely there it just lacks in execution sometimes given that they are a very large place and not every employee will operate with 120% 24/7. That being said it’s by no means bad. It’s just like an 85% instead of the 100% (still 10/10 effort though 👍🏾)
Final Verdict: 9/10 Very strong, ambitious, and great concept but also could easily be a 10 after the initial start up wrinkles are smoothed out. Read moreOn 10/29/24 my party of 6 and I who are all over the age of 18 drove 50 minutes from our city to visit this TopGolf location in Ontario, CA with a reservation. Upon entering we checked in our party, and had to wait for about 30 minutes for our bay, we were then suddenly approached by a worker who stated that if “no one in our party is over the age of 21, then we must “leave” our whole party was thrown off because prior to this, we’ve been at the same location past 10 p.m., and had never been turned away. We left with no issue; confused. I called TopGolfs customer service number the next day on October 30th 2024, around 12 p.m. to complain about this supposed rule that at the time was not posted on their website, to which the customer service rep agreed that she did not see that rule posted on their website, she tried calling the Ontario location several times and they did not respond. The representative I spoke with agreed they treated my party and myself incorrectly and told me to call back in a couple days if the Ontario location didn’t reach out to me, I did not receive a call or email, I then called on 11/4/24 to which Randall (customer service rep) couldn’t get in contact with the Ontario location, he claimed that he was told “the managers were in a meeting and they would contact me after”, Randall also found that nowhere on the website did it say 21+ after a certain time within the website. I received no phone call from the Ontario location management whatsoever, I called on days and times a location shouldn’t be busy, and on 11/6/24 I decided to call once again to which Bryan( customer service rep) finally found that it’s 21+ after 9pm on the website. Bryan agreed with me however that this location treated me poorly by not calling me back and apologized for the Ontario location. I don’t know if the website was recently updated to say 21+ after 9pm but both the Ontario Location & 2 customer service reps were unable to tell me this information.
