Go here if you like affordable prices, huge portions and less-than-authentic Italian food served with a side of mediocre service. (I go here under protest when in-laws visit from out of state as they grew up going to family meals at this place in the 60s and 70s). The portions are big enough to feed two people without having to worry about leftovers. The service itself, from one particular server, needs some spicing up. As the server, an older, less-than friendly Caucasian woman, took our order, she wrote down the names for each order (Bob, Richard, Margaret, David, Paul, Ruth, Brenda, etc.), but requested I provide an easier name when I gave her my name: Alicia (aw-lee-see-aw). After I repeated it twice, she said, "Alyssa it is because that's easy!" Who knew vowels were so difficult? (Fun fact: I was the only non-Caucasian in the group of 15). When she delivered the order about 20-30 minutes later, I made comment about the way the food is brought out to large parties -- in multi-level carts. I said, "Now that's how you serve large parties." She immediately gave me a look expressing her annoyance with me, my voice or something else that seemed personal. Her reaction was noticeable by those closest to me in our party as someone remarked, "No comments allowed!" We all laughed except her. While I ordered the spaghetti with marinara sauce, I received fusilli with marinara sauce. (Everyone else's order was correct). Rather than send it back and wait another 20 minutes or so, I just ate it. The spaghetti sauce tasted like tomatoes, the most prominent flavor in the entire dish. But I suppose, one goes there "for the experience" as the in-laws assert, not necessarily the food itself. On the positive side, the cheese bread is delicious which is why this kitschy place merits a 3-star, although a 2.5 seems more appropriate given the lackluster service. It's difficult to enjoy a meal when the staff seems sickened at the sight of...
Read moreUpdated-Gnats/Mosquitoes in dining area. We have been coming here for years. The food is still pretty good but take it to-go. The inside of this establishment has not been kept up and is verging on a health inspection violation. The tables were dirty. The seating was dirty and cracked. They only seat in the back room with the yellow wall. This room has gnats/mosquitoes flying around while ppl are eating they are swatting them away. It’s completely disgusting and the staff and management do nothing. My Husband got bit and we had to move tables. We rushed to eat our food and leave. We will not be dining here any longer. Very sad that this place has gone downhill and management can careless about the patrons.
4- years ago- A family favorite 😍 I have been visiting this location since I was a kid. We go here for birthdays, celebrations, or just because we’re hungry 😊 The food is always delicious. The meat sauce is flavorful, savory, heavenly. The marinara is as delicious 😋 Our regular order includes a spaghetti dinner full serving with meat sauce, a few meatballs, garlic bread with extra garlic, cheese bread, and a bowl of shredded cheese. The dinner includes salad and soup. The soup is amazing. I usually save it for lunch the next day. Whether you eat in or take-out the food and service is equally GREAT! They sell their sauces by the gallon! I Love ordering this for a family gathering. They also have desserts. Their cheesecake, spumoni, and carrot cake are sweet deliciousness 😋😋😋 If you are in the area definitely stop in for an...
