Western Sizzlin — Restaurant in Opelika

We drove from Columbus GA to Opelika AL to eat something different, we haven't had a Western Sizzlin in years. First I'll start with The pro our waitress was absolutely amazing her husband works there as well and he was wonderful they were very friendly and attentive. And now for the con We ordered two 10 oz ribeyes and two salad bars which come up to $50 We were enjoying our ribeyes they were delicious until I took a bite and pulled a long black hair out of my mouth, I don't have black hair! The manger came over who looked like a complete bum she wasn't even wearing anything showing she worked there (all the other employees had matching red shirts with the name of the restaurant) she didn't have a name tag on either she was wearing a wrinkly pink shirt with black pants she took the hair put it in a napkin ask what I was eating and walked away I assumed she was going to have another steak made for me seeing as how that's all she said, I assumed wrong she walks back to the table hands me $9 and says you ate most of your steak so this is all I can give you. I wasn't asking for a refund. She didn't offer to make me another steak, have another half of a steak made for me or anything just hands me $9 & we spent $50. That was a slap in the face You could see the kitchen staff through the little window and none of them had hair nets on. To the owners: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU START MAKING YOUR KITCHEN STAFF WEAR HAIR NETS!!!

UPDATE: Since our visit TWO months ago we are yet to receive a call back from corp or a franchise owner. We've called the corp office twice & left a message on their machine both times. We called the restaurant twice as well & left our name & number for a franchise owner...

Update: one year later.... After the "owner" says to give them another chance.... This time i wish i can give this place a negative 5 star review. We ordered 5 chop steak meals (3 kids, 2 adults). The girl behind the order wrote the meal wrong but charged us correctly. We aquired our 3 childrens chop steak cooked perfectly. Here my husband and i thought 5 minutes tops we were going to get our food. 15 minutes later our waitress told us that the lady behind the counter never wrote our order down. Now keep in mind, the girl behind the counter VERIFIED MY WHOLE DINNER THREE TIMES... ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE CHARGED US FOR ALL THE MEALS. We were told our food was coming... At least 4 times. We watched the manager go to the kitchen to take care of the buffet food and watched our food placed in the window just to be ignored by 5 waitresses AND THE MANAGER. once we saw the manager walk back to the cash register instead of personally deliver our food and our waitress tell us that it was a few more minutes before we got our food, we were done. We used to bring yall business. We used to come up there almost every weekend as a family and enjoy the food. The managers repsonse to my last years review was to give yall one more chance. We ate here numerous times and each time was a good experience since then. I only write bad reviews... So sorry but you have officially lost the business of a family that has been coming to you guys for years.

The absolute worst! Food was old, cold and stale. Had to wait for a few minutes after arriving in line because the employee wasn't there. When she finally came in she stopped and posed and tried to make a joke about her absence. I'm thinking, "whatever just get us our drinks". We sat near the bar, our waitress was good as far as attentive and plate removal, but another employee stood at the table beside ours talking to other customers about her boyfriend and how he had stolen all kinds of things from her. She just kept going on about having to have 250.00 a week to keep someone out of jail, how she got stopped by cops and on and on and on. She was loud and annoying. As I stated before the food was old, cold and stale. I would be willing to bet the food wasn't kept at correct temps. The chicken was dry and old. Mashed potatoes were cold and the ham tasted freezer burnt. After a salad(which I took a bite or two of and the other food catastrophes we decided to just pay our tab and leave. As we are walking to register the cashier saw us approaching and walked off to use the rest room. She couldn't wait two more minutes and check us out, nor tell us excuse me I will be right back. She just walked off. When she came back she just stuck her hand out for check. We paid, we left, we won't come back.... Ever!! Praying we don't get sick from...
