(Background info to get us introduction to what my issue is.)
My family and I went to Maanas few months back, we had a issue with the time frame the food arrived (45 minutes in to placing our order we received no food) After talking to the waiter we found out the reason it was talking so long is because the chefs are working on a catering order. That made me upset, because we are paying full price for food so we should get full services period.
The waiters there are scared of the owner for some reason and were hesitant to take charge. But after good ten minutes of talk I was able to get the owner #. called the owner (Madhav) explained what happen, he said next time one entire is free and portion of the bill on next visit will taken off.
Fast forward to just few day back (Oct 19). I went to Maanas again with the family and food was mediocre (my GF can cook better Indian food than Maanas and she is Caucasian). Getting back to the point, (Viraj the guy with the glasses, I believe that was his name) the server was kind and we all liked him. However with time came for the bill one dish was taken out after Viraj call the owner (Madhav) but nothing was done about the portion of the bill which me an the owner agreed on before. According to Viraj, Madhav doesn’t recall saying about the portion of the bill being taken off. I was not going to argue with Viraj (he is just doing his job). I asked other waiter for the manager on duty he said he step out and the other waiter stated to make excuse on what is going on at the restaurant and said next time it will be better.(friendly reminder, there will not be a next time.) Our family owns business as well and the way Mannas operates is unprofessional, unethical and most important it makes all desi business look bad.

Maanas needs to really reevaluate on their business habits and take a look around their area; there are three other Indian restaurant in Maanas area. Also please motivated your employees with positive feedback, don’t scare them so much that they can’t even go to the bathroom with your approval. The purpose of this review is NOT give Maanas a bad rep, but to remind Maanas principal behind running a...
Read moreThis restaurant recently had a name change from Manas to Daawat. I tried buffet lunch when it was Maanas and it was not so great but okay. With COVID changes and limitations on dine in. I tried the to go option of chicken biryani. When I ordered they said 20 minutes but it was ready in 10 min. The box was wrapped in plastic sheet which was something I've never seen on to go boxes. The food was very dry and lacked the freshly made biryani taste and smell. It looked like it was pre packed in the morning and put in refrigerator and given to us by microwaving the box. The chicken inside the biryani was also moisture less. It wasn't juicy at all.
A special mention to the lady waiter who was so rude. She spoke and gave the experience of not understanding me and said are you going to pay rather aggressively. When the new card reader didn't scan the card properly she took it from me to use the chip reader and signed of the amount by herself! When she asked me for tip. I gave no tip option. I am someone who would tip even on to go pick ups but I couldn't this time.
Overall a very bad experience and since I have been told by friends and family that the food tastes great. I believe it's not.
Never ever go to this restaurant again and spend a 15$ worth on food in waste.
The other reviews might be good but also look like self written ones!!
Oh god!!! What a horrible experience and again special mention to the waitress who was not polite all all. A one star is also waste as the food was stale. Please...
Read moreI started ordering from this restaurant when it was called Maanas Indian Restaurant. Their food used to be decent for the price because they gave you free naan along with rice with any curry you ordered. Then they remodeled the facility and renamed it Daawat Indian Restaurant and significantly raised the prices for the same food they used to offer, and naan wasn't free with the curry anymore.
The quality of the food has been inconsistent. The same curry will go from tasting average to tasting horrible depending on the day and time of day you order. I've also observed that it changes in color as well (sometimes a green base, sometimes an orange base), so it will be your lucky day if it tastes good (never order a chana masala, it's tastes pretty bad.) From the last couple of times I ordered food in the late afternoon (around 5:00p.m. ish), it tasted like they gave us leftover food from lunch, which my stomach did not digest well. I cook Indian food at home often so I know how a fresh curry should taste, and what its consistency should be. In the end, I would say it's not worth ordering from this restaurant because Indian food is pricey in general, and this one is slightly higher in price than average in the area. The taste of food does not match the price, and no one should have to deal having an upset stomach after spending so much money on what they hope would be a...
