When you’re looking for the best food baby you’ve ever had you’ve GOT TO stop here!!!
My husband and I are from Southern California and are currently traveling the nation to find and experience the best food around. We’d been to Cali Taco’s once before leaving for our travels and tested out some of their crazy delicious food, but on our recent flight back to CA for some meetings we knew we had to visit again..
We are SO GLAD we did! Prior to our visit we learned a little bit about the owner Josh and the family story behind this awesome place! He grew up in the taco shop and started as a kid picking rocks out of the rice while also helping to make their delish homemade salsa!
San Diego taco shops are way different then any other taco shop you’ve ever experienced and he has officially brought San Diego to the OC. Everything is made fresh daily from their beans to their rice. Say hello to flavor!! You can taste the knowledge, passion and love behind each and every creation! Because he takes pride in what he does and wants to ensure a memorable decadent experience for all he even gets his meats and extra large 16inch Tortillas shipped from San Diego!! Wow oh wow talk about even more authentic!!!
They legit have a burrito that might as well be a baby you cradle and is the size of your forearm called the Angel burrito that is their surf and turf burrito with fries and all the works plus uses two of their special XL tortillas! Their meat is so tender, juicy and flavorful, the tortillas have the perfect softness and chew while also holding together when you eat it. They have a sauce they use called their Cali sauce and honestly it might as well be crack! It is SO FREAKEN GOOD and addicting! I wish they would bottle and sell it nationwide cause I’d put it on everything!!
The fish tacos were so flakey and crunchy and the fillet was massive. The Rolled tacos were super crunchy as well, the adobada OMG please sell that by the pound as well! The ham and egg breakfast burrito you could have for breakfast and lunch, their fries topped with all their homemade creations…dear lord everything is amazing!
They have another crazy creation called the FTB (Fries, Taco, Burrito) that was basically a massive 16 inch quesadilla bowl filled with your hearts desires as well…guacamole, fries, meat, sour cream, their crack Cali sauce, whatever meat you wanted (get it with adobada…you thank us!!), etc….
Cali Taco’s is LEGIT a Destination spot, whether you’re inside the area or have to make a plane trip there. You MUST check them out and check it off your bucket list!!
The shop is small on the inside, and currently no inside dining cause of Covid, but they have a wonderful covered patio on the outside where you can enjoy all your deliciousness.
Thank you Cali Tacos for giving an incredible experience to the world! We definitely need to bring Cali Tacos to the East Coast so everyone knows where the most LEGIT tacos come from!

Read moreCAME HERE SINCE 2017 . NEVER COMPLAIN OR FELT THIS UPSET AT ANY TACO PLACE. I ordered on 7/28/2024 for ANGEL BURRITO WITH GUACAMOLE,SOUR CREAM AND CALI SUACE ON THE SIDE . I did this over the phone because my wife just gave birth to our daughter and my wife loveCali Tacos and she wanted to eat from here . She was starving from 6am to almost 11pm . I told the employee everything my wife wanted and he repeated it back to and I confirmed it was right .
Cali Tacos was going to close at midnight so I rushed over as fast as I could because my wife had a very scary delivery, I didn’t want to leave her alone for too long . Got my food and hurried back to my wife in the hospital. By the time I got back it was midnight . My wife bit into her burrito and there was guacamole inside . I check the receipt and saw the employee forget to put down guacamole on the side . I couldn’t call because it was past midnight. So on 7/29/2024 I called first thing the morning to explain everything in detail and asked if they can remake it .
The employee told me that they couldn’t because I didn’t call yesterday and complained about it then,so the mangers in the morning would be informed . They don’t keep records from yesterday apparently . I told her I understand but I couldn't call because they were closed already . I asked her if I can please talk to the manager for a sec. She went to talk to him and I could hear everything over the phone . He didn’t seem unhappy and refused to talk to me . The employee asked me “what kind of meat was in the burrito ?” I said “carnitas” . This implied they were going to remake my wife’s burrito . Then she stayed quiet and asked “ Do you speak Spanish?” . And I replied “No I don’t, not that much”
Then she got off the phone to talk to her manger again then came back on the phone saying “ unfortunately we can’t remake the burrito because you didn’t call yesterday, I’m sorry “ I told her it “ok I’ll figure it out.”
I would have been fine if it was just a no the whole time . But the fact that they were going to remake it for me but THEN REFUSED BECAUSE I DIDN’T SPEAK SPANISH ?????? I never felt so disrespected and discriminated against at a restaurant in my...
Read moreParking: They’re located in a very small plaza. They have a small lot, so finding a spot can be difficult. Free parking lot or street parking.
Ambiance/Environment: Not the cleanest space. It’s very small inside. There’s only 3 indoor tables, but plenty of outdoor seating. Lines can get long. We visited on a Sunday late afternoon, and there were consistent customers.
Service: It’s a quick service grab n go. The only interaction we had was with the cashier. The cashier was quick and efficient. Throughput took 7 minutes after ordering.
Food: We didn’t order any drinks. Should’ve tried the horchata bc we saw everyone ordered it. That’ll just mean we have to come back hehe.
The burritos we ordered were HUGE. They were the size of my forearm! I was only able to finish half and saved the rest while my partner devoured his.
They also have a self serving sauce bar. There was green sauce, red sauce, and carrots (I think). Again, not the cleanest place.
The Cali Burrito con Pollo Asada - I ordered this with chicken. This came with guacamole, cheese, sour cream & fries. The chicken had lots of flavor; it was marinated well. The guacamole was fresh! The fries were also cooked well.
Supreme Burrito con Pollo Asada - My partner ordered this with chicken. His burrito came with guacamole, cheese, sour cream, lettuce, & pico. The guacamole and lettuce were also fresh! The chicken was cooked and marinated well also.
We both loved the Cali sauce! I have no idea what’s in the sauce, but it gave the burritos extra flavor. It’s a thick creamy sauce. I mixed the Cali sauce with the red sauce, and it was bomb.
Pricing: I’d say the prices are fair for the burritos. The sizes were huge and definitely fulfilling. It’s worth it, and we’ll be back to try their...
