We, the members of the Urdu Writers Society of North America, recently hosted a special dinner in honor of the Ambassador of Pakistan at Darya Restaurant in the City of Orange—and what a delightful experience it was! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the elegant ambiance of the restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfectly suited for a prestigious gathering. The management was incredibly accommodating and cooperative, ensuring that every detail of our evening went smoothly. The food was exceptional—delicious, flavorful, and generously served, more than enough to satisfy all our guests. Each dish reflected the care and quality that Darya is known for. What truly elevated the evening was the outstanding service. A special note of appreciation goes to Manager Panta and especially waitress Leila, whose constant smiles and helpful attitude made everyone feel truly cared for. Their professionalism and warmth did not go unnoticed and were deeply appreciated by all attendees. We highly recommend Darya Restaurant to anyone looking for a venue with top-notch service, great food, and an unforgettable ambiance. It was a perfect choice for our memorable evening.

Came here for a wedding luncheon. We had both dining rooms to the right. Nice restaurant but outdated as far as their dinnerware. Their charger plates were gold and had paint chips exposing patches of silver. The appetizer/dessert square plates were aging with faded fork and dishwasher lines. Besides the aesthetic, service was wonderful. Shanna was our bartender. I asked for something sweet and she made me a mango martini. Delicious. She made sure she kept the refills coming for our table. We had a buffet style lunch. It included saffron rice, chicken kebob, beef kabob, chicken in pomegranate sauce, marinated chicken, grilled whole tomatoes, salad, baghali polo (lamb rice) and lentil soup. Prior to lunch, hors d’oeuvre was served. We had borani, hummus and three other sauces served with lavash. For desserts, there was a plate of baklava, zoolbia and a pistachio item. Super sweet and must be eaten with hot cardamom tea or coffee. The food was okay. It’s not as flavorful as other places, maybe because it was buffet style.

This one is difficult for me . It's not that food was bad or inedible at this restaurant and the wait staff was excellent. But food wise it left a lot to be desired. The pita served was hard ..when requested for fresh one they said they didn't have any and so we got the lavash..which was fine by itself. But that is something that needs to be mentioned upfront when ordering appetizers that there is no Pita. I am sorry ..this is supposedly an upscale, popular Mediterranean restaurant. How can they not have Pita ? And apparently they ruh out of it regularly. The Hummus and and the Kashk bademjan didn't have much flavor. The Chicken Soltani and Kubbedieh were ok..nothing spectacular in flavor. The only dish that stood out for me and why they got 3 stars was the Tadig with Sabz Gormeh. That had excellent flavors and lived up to its good reviews. If rating was on pure service and food portions I would give them 6 stars not even 5....but food flavors not overly impressed.

If I could give this place a zero star I would. I visited this place not so long ago for the first time and the food was great and the server she was amazing. However I went there again today after almost a year craving Persian Food I drove almost 40 minutes from where I live to this place. Firstly we didn’t like the server’s vibe. He was so unpleasant and unwelcoming. The guy looked like he was on something because the way he was acting was very unprofessional and odd. We ordered our food. Also the bread that they make themselves, the baker he came to us with 3,4 bread pieces that WERE NOT FRESH, which in this place they give you complementary fresh bread since they make them and he came and said eat this for now and I’ll be making fresh ones which he never came back with fresh bread and i think we ate some leftovers from another guest. Anyways the food came. Both chicken kabobs were super unfresh they looked like they were reheated and the rice had a strange smell to it and was also cold. The chickens had very disgusting smell to them. So we asked the server to remake one because it was obvious that it was reheated and not freshly made. He didn’t apologize not once and he had this bad vibe and attitude to him so full of pride and acted like he owns the place. I dont know his name but on my receipt showed Nouri N. He didn’t even introduce himself to us like a professional server would do. So since his vibe was getting to me i just told them i dont want them to remake it. He still didn’t even bother to care or give any emotion. Very rude and unpleasant to deal with. At the end they didn’t even not charge us for the other smelly chicken and cold rice and we paid almost $55 for trashy food. Never going back there again. Also shame on you Nouri N. I hope...
