Mi Casa Authentic Mexican Food — Restaurant in Orange

This afternoon, I went to Mi Casa Mexicana for lunch. The front person was happy to see a new customer at about 03:15 PM. I ordered a chicken burrito, not spicy with water. I asked twice about it being not spicy. When the check was presented to me, it was higher than the amount I was quoted. It was 4.00% higher. The woman explained, "The credit card company charges that 4.00%, not us." "Why didn't you tell me that I could use cash and avoid the fee?" There was no response. She pointed to the bottled water and said, "You can just take that water." I thanked her, took two bottles, and brought them to the back table. When the woman saw the two plastic bottles of water, she had a fit. "One bottle, not two." She walked to my table and grabbed the second bottle. I tasted the burrito, and it was like warm. I asked it to be reheated. The burrito was placed right into the microwave. I had the next few bites, and saw that the chicken was day-old, all dark meat, skimpy, with 90% rice and spices. I'm always looking to try good authentic mexican food so I decided to give "Mi casa" a try. We ordered a burrito, sopes and some tacos.

Food taste it's "just okay", nothing outstanding. I usually don't have a lot of salt in my food but this time I found myself adding salt to the food.

I gave a poor rate because the place is FILTHY. I felt like if I was in a dirty old house. I don't mind antiques but, is the old dust and stickyness on their chairs and tables part of the decor? I wish the owner of this place reads my review to take notes and decides to clean more. We sadly won't be back again. I don't not...

I usually gauge a Mexican restaurant by its carne asada burrito, since that is a main meat that the culture usually cooks at get togethers. When you bite into the burrito, you get a whiff of freshly off -the-grill perfectly seasoned and well -picked meat that is tender, not too much connective tissue at all, with a non-overpowering ratio of rice-to-meat. Usually bad burritos either overcompensate with having too much meat, or a little meat to save money. Not this restaurant. They serve you what you crave, a taste of meat and taste of rice.
