I've been playing at OCBC for more than 3 years now. They have 12 courts, all with a very high ceiling, pro floor mats, & good lighting. You almost never have to wait for a court to play. Often the players will invite you to play if they see you don't have a partner. There is a wide range of expertise all the way up to very advanced, including the #1 man & woman in the U.S.
The 3 coaches there are very good. Even though I have won or been 2nd in about 100 tournament events, I feel I can learn from all of them.
Children are always welcome, & they have junior programs.
If you're new to badminton, here are a few interesting things. You can have long rallies (100s of shots - I hit 300 in a row (each) with my oldest daughter when she was about 5) soon after you start learning to play (try that in tennis). It's relatively easy for young children to play & it's a wonderful family activity. A study done in 1995 showed that you often spend 4 times the amount of energy/unit time playing badminton compared to tennis. Badminton birds have been clocked at over 200 MPH (tennis balls at over 140 MPH). You have 1/5 sec. to return super fast badminton birds. You have 2 to 3 times that long with a super fast tennis serve (depending on the spin) (you can count the # of frames (30/sec.) it takes for the tennis ball to reach the opponent with your...

The first time, we had an accident double book by 2 people in the team. It was unable cancelation online ( I clicked on my appointment it showed 3 options. There was a canceled appointment there, but It doesn't works)
Then, We came to the front desk to ask about the double booked manager here. He doesn't want to help us with the cancelation. Even the online appointment is unable to be canceled.
It is not convenient because it is an easy book but not easy to cancel.
I feel bad about this experience on the problem here.
I just have another group want to play, but I will consider inviting them here to play because it is not the only place to play badminton.
Paying the fee for the accident is not much money, but it is the experience/lesson to me that place doesn't care about you, player come...
Read moreI'm a beginner as I only recently started playing recreationally with friends. We came Thursday evening at around 630pm and there was only 1-2 courts open. Starting from 730, it was packed until 930. We paid $13 for entry, and they REQUIRE Yonex branded birdies only. We didn't have any so we had to buy the AS30 12-pack for $33.40. so for 2 ppl, we paid just shy of $60. Granted, we did whatever we could to make the birdies last, but ouch, this is getting expensive.
As for the courts, they're clean, they have the bouncier green mats and the lines are easy to see. The ppl were nice and it was great to watch the very skilled players make badminton look easy.
Overall, I'd go again, but maybe less frequently than the less professional/cheaper locations. I don't need fancy shmancy when it's...
