I have been a regular patron of Prime Cut Cafe & Wine Bar for quite some time now, and it is with a heavy heart that I must express my deep disappointment regarding the recent changes that have taken place at this establishment. The absence of Melissa, one of their best managers, has left a noticeable void that has negatively impacted the overall experience.
Located at 1547 West Katella Avenue, Suite 101 in Orange, CA, Prime Cut Cafe & Wine Bar has been known for its exquisite cuisine and pleasant ambiance. The combination of delectable dishes and a warm atmosphere, once overseen by the attentive management of Melissa, made this place truly special.
Unfortunately, during my recent visit, I was informed that Melissa is no longer a part of the team. This news came as a shock, as Melissa's presence was synonymous with the excellent customer service and attention to detail that Prime Cut was known for. Her ability to remember regulars, anticipate their preferences, and ensure a smooth dining experience set a high standard that seems to have faltered in her absence.
The decline in service quality was evident throughout my visit. The once-impeccable attention to detail was lacking, and the overall ambiance felt less inviting. It was evident that the staff was struggling to fill the gap left by Melissa's departure. While the food quality was still commendable, the overall experience was marred by the sense that something essential was missing.
I sincerely hope that Prime Cut Cafe & Wine Bar takes note of the impact that the absence of key personnel like Melissa can have on their establishment. A strong management team contributes significantly to the overall success of any restaurant, and the departure of such a capable and personable manager should not be taken lightly.
In conclusion, my recent visit to Prime Cut Cafe & Wine Bar was a disappointment primarily due to the absence of Melissa, an integral part of what made this place shine. I hope that the establishment can recover from this setback and regain the level of excellence that I, along with many others, have come to expect.

Read moreService was outstanding, the waiter doesn't belong here he should work a high end restaurant.. we ordered ice tea with lemon, (I drink a lot) he was on top of it and kept my tea fresh. My husband ordered the Creole Style Wild Jumbo Shrimp ... Sautéed Jumbo Shrimp in a Light and Delicious Creole Sauce with White Rice 26.95 - only 4 pieces of shrimp. Tasteless. The rice was a stiff mound that he was able to stick his fork in and lift the entire mound, the toast was rock hard and burned. I started with a Mixed Greens Salad ... Baby Lettuce, Radish Slices, Cherry Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Croutons and Red Onion 8.95 - i had the blue cheese dressing and finished it with fresh crushed black pepper - absolutely delightful! For me there is nothing better then a fresh salad with a good mix of ingredients. Nothing worse then an ice burg lettuce with red cabbage salad, this was top notch. I ordered the Filet Mignon Tacos ... Seasoned and Grilled Filet Mignon, Onions, Cilantro, Served with Black Bean Corn Salad 23.95 - 2 tacos, they were delicious, the sauce was outstanding. The "black bean, corn sald" was nasty, it tasted old and out of a plastic container. WHY DO YOU ALLOW DOGS IN YOUR RESTAURANT? hmmmm, because it was cute and fit in the customers arms? Would I get equal service if I brought my exceptionally well behaved Siberian Husky or Large Black Lab? The ladies seated across from us had this long haired poorly behaved dog, it tried to climb the waiters legs when he served their food, they welcomed the dog up on the seat with them and fed it from their plates! While I was trying to enjoy my lunch the dog was scratching vigorously and then shook its loose hair everywhere! You could see the dogs hair in the air, it was gross and certainly unappetizing and unsanitary!! This shouldn't be allowed in an indoor dining room.
This was a spontaneous lunch, looking for someplace new to go with friends before our Hockey games. We most certainly will not invite our friends here or come back. Way overpriced for...
Read moreMy husband and I were excited to celebrate our 51st anniversary and Valentine's Day at Prime Cut, hoping for a really special night. We've always felt comfortable there, receiving top-notch service, but this time was completely different. Maybe we were a bit more sensitive with everything going on in the world, but we've never felt so disrespected.
We sat at the bar and were served by Casey. The couple next to us received amazing service--he was extremely attentive to every need they had--while we had to keep calling for his attention. He mostly ignored us, and when he finally did come over, he looked annoyed. We tried to brush it off, thinking we might be imagining things, but it only got worse.
I ordered a glass of water, and Casey brought me a child's plastic cup with water, saying they were out of glasses--then he quickly turned around and handed two proper glasses to the couple across from us. It felt petty, insulting, and like we were being singled out.
Feeling totally disrespected and uncomfortable, we asked for the bill. Casey rushed us out and even slammed our credit cards on the bar, almost throwing them at us. It was a harsh, hurtful display of disregard.
We left the restaurant deeply hurt and disappointed. Later at home, I kept thinking about that plastic cup of water and even worried he might have tampered with it, putting my health at risk. It made us wonder if his attitude was actually because of a bias against Latin people, which just made the whole experience even more painful.
We urge Prime Cut to re-evaluate their hiring practices and ensure that their staff can work in a diverse...
