Update on Pho Noodle House: As usual, the food was superb. The Pho is top notch and the fried tofu was delicious. Unfortunately the service ruined the experience. No greeting for a few minutes of waiting at the front, even though many tables were available. Our drinks never made it to us, even though the table next to us got their Thai iced teas and they came in after us. Our waiter (bluish gray hair guy) was disinterested and never came to check on us. After we finished, he never came to give us our check. I looked right at him and waved and he just walked right by. Odd, since we've always had friendly and helpful service here. Food is 5 stars, service is 1 star unfortunately.
This is our go to Pho restaurant in the Santa Ana area. Very clean and modern place to eat with exceptionally helpful service. The pho broth is delicious along with the garlic noodles. So many good things on the menu, you really cannot go wrong with anything you pick. With Covid, pick up orders are the best way to get your food. Very short wait time and the food is just as good. Funny though, they don't take your name when you call in your order and you have to ask when your order will be ready. No problem though, just remember what you ordered when you go to pick up your food. Highly recommend for a reasonably priced...

We were seated by the host, and the servers came to take our orders after a few moments. Drinks and water were provided right away. We ordered the spring rolls and the shrimp spring rolls. These appetizers came fairly quickly next and tasted delicious. The 2 shrimp spring rolls were cut in half for a better sharing experience and making it easier to pour the sauce into (don't dip, cuz the fillings will fall out).
We ordered #1 house special pho, #5 seafood pho, chicken banh mi sandwich, and pan-seared salmon. Before our maindishes arrived, our server gave us a plate of basil, lemon wedges, and sprouts. House special and seafood pho were savory according to those who had the dishes. Chicken banh mi is flavorful from chicken's grilling process. The pan seared salmon tasted better with the house special sauce (dipped or poured over).
Before the bill arrived, our server gave us a sweet dessert that had sago (small tapioca balls), mung bean, and coconut milk (see pictured). This dessert was just the right amount (in terms of sweetness and quantity) for a perfect finish to a meal.
Would return again, especially for the egg rolls, spring rolls, and, of course,...
Read moreWe normally go to the one in Lake Forest but because this is closer to home, my husband and I prefer this one. After all, pho is one of the few dishes you cannot order to go. It won't be as delicious as it is dining in!
Food quality is consistent nonetheless in both locations we've been to! We always get the egg rolls and the pho with brisket!
I have never accomplished eating a full bowl of pho even if it is the small size - anywhere I have gone. This will be the place that I will achieve that goal. Other pho places I have gone to weren't bad. I just prefer the flavor of their broth here more AND ESPECIALLY THEIR FRIGGIN EGG ROLLS.
JEEZ. Best egg rolls I have ever had and you wouldn't think of ordering that at a Pho restaurant! Pairs really well together!
As for drinks, my husband loves to get the fresh coconut. I am a sucker for a good unsweetened ice tea. The less calories my drink has, the easier it is for me to eventually and hopefully finish a...
