Rosalia's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Orangeburg

WE WILL NEVER RETURN HERE! My wife and I were looking forward to enjoying authentic Mexican cuisine. We were not disappointed with the food. Excellent. Let me explain why we will NEVER return and why I gave a 2 star rating. It was the lack of customer service and professionalism. My wife ordered a CHICKEN Chimichanga. After a while she noticed how sweet this chicken appeared to be. Then she realized that this was not chicken, but BRISKET. Our young waiter was not very attentive so we could not get his attention. Since my wife had already eaten part of the dish, we felt it was too late to have them prepare what she asked for. She ate what she could and when the young boy came by for the first time, she kindly explained the mix up. He basically shrugged his shoulders and said nothing more. Not, “would you like a replacement with what you correct ordered” or “you will not be charged for this, sorry”. Nothing. He placed the bill on our table with everything at Full Price! I went to the manager at the cash. Explained. Her answer was, “both items are the same price” so what’s the problem. REALLY! She started the payment procedure. I expressed my disappointment at the restaurants response to this matter. I would have expected them to remove my wife’s meal from the bill. That would have indicated regret for the mistake. Update: 3/29/2023. The food was good today. I did ask to hold the tomatoes on my quesadilla as I do not cooked tomatoes. Because of this request, I also didn't get fresh tomatoes so language is still a small issue. The service is still a bit slow. The steak however was very grizzly and very overcooked. Almost inedible. My advise, don't order the steak and shrimp.

Very disappointing lately. On Friday last week 4/15/2022 I placed a take out order.. didn't receive the "served with" portion of my meal ie, guacamole, rice sour cream and salad. The broccoli wasn't cut all the way through resulting in large stems ... the floret part removed. The super burrito wasn't so super with little beef. I also asked not to get a full bag of chips as they wouldn't be eaten... we received two bags. On Wednesday 4/20/2022 I visited the restaurant for inside dining. Our sever acted as if she didn't understand. I ordered a house whiskey and coke and got a plain coke... we had to order the beer 4 different times before being told they didn't carry natural light. My meal was wrong and I sent it back. When we complained to the "head" server we were told she understood English well.... then this person stayed with in 3 feet, shaking her head and talking her foot. I usually go to Rosalias at least twice a month.... but refuse to waste my money if there isn't any care...

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a restaraunt. We had 4 adults and 3 children in our party. We arrived at 9:35pm and we sat there i know for like 10 minutes before we got chips with no salsthen waited another 15 to 20 mins before they asked our drink order not to mention we had to ask for salsa. Then when they brought the drinks everyone did not get there drink we had to wait and ask for the other drinks. We ran out of chips so we put the basket s at the end of the table thinking they would bring more! Not! My fiance had to go ask for more. I asked for cheese dip twice before we got it. They finally took our order by 10;15pm. I asked for shredded chicken on my taco salad and shredded chicken for my nephews nachos we got grilled chunks of chicken in both. Not to mention everyone got there food before 1 other person in our party and she waited 10 minutes. So we left by 10:40. So here is your tip give good service and cater to everyone else in the place except us. You never know who is walking in your restaraunt to check things out or maybe someone famous you didnt know.
