We came in fairly late because we were traveling. We didn't have a huge amount of choices so we asked who would be open. We were given a few choices and this place was one. They stay open till 10 pm which was a huge bonus. It is tucked away a little bit but completely worth the find. First off we were greeted with the kindest soul. Which ended up being our server. He was absolutely attentive and on top of everything. The salsa... are you kidding me delisious... Ask for the hot and you will get hot. Genuinely tasty not just hot. Our drinks were always full & we wanted for nothing throughout our meal. As for the food... yummy! We ordered 3 completely different dinners. And none of them disappointed. The burrito was HUGE. The salad was spot on and my little girls burger made her happy. And that's all that mommy's and Daddy's want.
While we were waiting for our food. A young man and woman came in and started playing live music. It started with them both sitting down and playing some songs with and acoustic guitars. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH how absolutely AMAZING they were. The young gentleman got up for a bit and left the girl to sing solo. Well our hearts just melted. We were committed at that point no matter what. We asked the owner about the couple and found out they were siblings but also the owners children. This place has been here for 30+ and needs another 30+. Family owned and I do hope it stays for our next adventure this way. The only slightly negative thing I could say is. It is hard to see and...
Read moreI am impressed by the food here. I was born and raised in California, used to live in Oregon and now live in Washington state. I also frequented Jalisco and other states in Mexico. I believe that Oregon has officially outdone California and has the best Mexican food, in my opinion. I usually expect mediocre Mexican food. Del Taco seems like a better option than most Mexican restaurants i have ate at. I expected this place to be okay. My family agreed they had the best rice and beans. They ate everything.I never eat the rice and beans from other restaurants because it doesn't taste good to me. But I actually loved them here. The chicken absolutely exceeded my expectations. The best cooks know how to make good chicken and tasty rice. Again thats from my observation. I am glad I don't live here. Because I would gain a lot of weight. I just can't find Mexican restaurants like this is California and...
Read moreWe stopped in late at night on a Saturday. We were the only folks there at that time and were treated like royalty. It's true that some of the food didn't look or taste like Southern California "Mexican" food, and we were pleased that the owner took care to explain the recipes. He gave us a choice, for instance, between the common enchilada and the recipe his grandmother used. While we ate, the musician played guitar softly in the background, and the music was beautiful indeed. By the time we left we felt like family. Granted, it was difficult to find the restaurant: The entry comes up quickly, and you must follow signs even after you've left the main highway -- but it was well worth the...
