I booked 2 nights in the Kitchenette suite for my daughters 9th Birthday party. My daughter and I actually drove to the hotel a week previous to make sure what we rented was what we wanted. We viewed the front area, pool area and breakfast room and at the time it looked great. I asked if we could see the room we were renting for next weekend if it was vacate and the front desk clerk said we couldn't. IF we were to view that room previous, I would have cancelled immediately and booked a different hotel. The next weekend we checked in with ALL of our belongings then used the bathroom. The toilet wasn't secure to the floor and it wouldn't flush, after many attempts. The gentleman at the front desk gave us an option to move rooms right across the hall (Same room type). I checked to make sure the bathroom utilities worked before moving all of our belongings again. When we started moving our belongings in, I tried the light switch for the kitchen area and it was not working. Luckily, the lady at the front desk came and changed the florescent light for us. Next, we tried to turn on the tv with the remove provided and it wasn't working. I walked back to the front desk and the lady said we have to manually turn on the tv for the remove to work. That information would have been nice to know upon check in, as I have walked several times back to the front desk.... The next morning, we used the bathroom toilet and it actually overflowed! At this point, I was disguised. We have already moved rooms and unpacked and packed up twice! There was another nice gentleman at the front desk that gave me a key card to view a different room which was the K with the spa. I checked everything in that room. Lights, water, toilet... It all seemed to work, yet again, we had to pack up and unpack to another room. We then went to the breakfast room around noon to set up the birthday party and it was a complete mess in there. We had to ask the front desk for a broom to clean the floor and we used our own towels to clean the tables and countertops. We did clean up the area after we used it in great detail. We then went to the pool area and the kids and adults had a great time! Until, 4 of the kids started to vomit! As parents, we were trying to figure out if it was the food they ate, which it wasn't as many of the other kids and adults had the same food and they were fine! My daughter out of total embarrassment had thrown up by the sliding glass door leading to the outside. I cleaned it up straight away, but the front desk had to close the pool area. I do understand that as it's the law. I then called the other parents that had already left to see if their kiddo's were sick and 2 of out 5 of them were!!!!!!!!! My daughter and I left the hotel that night as she was so sick and we didn't even stay in the room that night. We were NEVER offered a discount or even a free room for the 2nd night! The front office staff were great, but I will never go back there and the rest of the party definitely won't either as they heard my disappointment and their...
Read moreencountered a front desk clerk as rude as the one at the Ashland Comfort Inn.||The evening individual requested my license and credit card which I provided they began to speak in a low voice. I could not hear them and said, “I’m sorry, I can’t hear you. I’m deaf in my left ear.”||They then gestured toward my companion, chuckled and declared, “He’s got hearing aids and you can’t hear!”||||We were incredulous that this individual at this very decent establishment would have the rude audacity to mock our hearing challenges.||My companion was upset after walking back to our car. We felt that we had been through an unnecessary experience so returned to the lobby and rang the desk bell. The same rude clerk returned to the desk and after inquiring of their name||my companion asked them, “are you not aware that it’s inappropriate to make sarcastic comments about hotel guests’ disabilities?”||The desk clerk chuckled and responded, “I was just making a joke.”||My companion told him, “I’m amazed that you’re unaware that it is highly inappropriate to mock people for their hearing struggles.”||His response was, “I can see you’re upset.”|| My companion responded, “yes, I am upset.”||Do you joke and make fun of guests who have other types of disabilities?” My companion went on ask this clerk if he ridiculed other guests for their disabilities, to listing a few examples of some disabilities that this individual might be inclined to joke about. || || My companion advised this individual that he’d stayed here multiple times and always (especially since the remodel) recommends the Comfort Inn here in Ashland to anyone traveling to and from CA. He told this desk clerk that in no uncertain terms that he was the rudest person he’d ever encountered.||The response was, “well, I’m sorry you feel that way-that’s all I can do.”||||I spoke with the morning desk clerk then contacted the owner and general manager, ||Attention to:||Jordan- General Manager||John Warren-owner||to complain at the email provided:||guestservices@comfortinnashland.com.|| I unbelievably never received a response which is highly unprofessional of the management of establishment. ||||I will add that the spa (no exaggeration) reeked of eye/stinging chlorine which was causing the spa surface to erode with flaking grit, rendering it unusable. ||What a shame. This hotel had the potential to be a...
Read more90% satisfied 10%confused but sustained a good connection with some of the staff. Breakfast is advertised as open until 9:30 but cleaning up and no more food put out after 8:55 stating that they don’t put out any more hot food after 9:00am. Fix this please because it’s fourth advertisement. One other thing I have a service animal that is trained to assist me in mobility. Shes a gift from the wounded worriers project and highly trained by pets for partners. It was extremely obvious as stated by your staff’s comments , that they can see the difference between other k9s that have been presented as service dogs. That being said one of your front desk employees stated I could not bring the k9 into the pool area. I quickly explained that you have no accommodations for the physical challenged to use the pool area which is in direct violation of the ADA regulations requiring any and all establishments to provide equal access to all the services. If it’s provided to one customer it must be provided to all. Same for the washing machines. But I managed to have this conversation with another front desk team member who stated that the other person was incorrect and that the service k9 is allowed in the pool area but not in the pool water. Which was never my intention and completely understandable. What I’m trying to say is that please give the proper instructions to all members of the staff. That was my only concern. I want to point out one individual who has displayed all the caricatures of a good host. Courtland ( misplelled my apologies) who was very helpful even before I arrived, I called 10 months ago to make sure that this was a good facility for me and my service canine companion. Thank you. He assured me a room close to the front lobby and was happy he kept his word. Otherwise I had a good stay. Thank you...
