If you’re a lifestyle camper in need of a cheap place to pitch your tent with the most basic amenities, then this is the place for you! But if you’re a passing traveler or a glamping enthusiast… stay elsewhere. I reserved the Oak Dome for one night along my journey. It’s shabby, but comfortable. There are two futons, two cushy sofas, and a large wooden table with two stools. (Heat, A/C, light, power, and wifi available.) HOWEVER, I had great difficulty with the unstaffed check-in because there was no sign anywhere on the dome to say that it was the Oak Dome and no staff around to ask. They also seem to have made the lockbox at the dome as difficult to find as possible, locating it on one of the beams of the deck behind a large planter. The emails I received for confirmation were so chock full of information on how to be a repeat tent camper – two separate emails with so much information I didn’t need as a one-night dome reservation – that I missed the lengthy detailed instructions about how to find the hidden lockbox. Management needs to improve their email templates to better communicate with guests. Now let’s talk about the shared bathrooms, which are well beyond shabby. The morning after my stay, I packed up and went to the nearest freeway rest stop because the bathroom was cleaner and more spacious than the one at Jackson Wellsprings. (Seriously.) The toilet cubicles are too small to fit a person standing and a toilet, unless you straddle the bowl to close the door. The showers are covered in cobwebs. The water all smells strongly of sulfur, except for the one tap with potable water. The freeway is very close and all of the sites are crowded pretty close together, so don’t expect a quiet peaceful night. There was a pop-up tent camper parked about 15’ feet from the dome, with people inside talking loud well past midnight – and again, no staff around to enforce posted quiet hours. With all the “residents” living at this place, it’s odd that there’s nobody available for guests to speak to – I couldn’t even find a staffed phone number. It just feels like nobody cares.

We had a fantastic time camping here. We lucked out and managed to get a full hook up RV site in a spot called the eagle's nest. It was difficult to find on the map, and was not clearly marked, but once we finally found it, we were pleased that it was large and secluded and had a Creek running alongside... which also means mosquitoes.. So you may want to be prepared for that. Thankfully , we had some essential oil mosquito repellent on hand. We made reservations to swim two of the evenings that we were camping. The mineral water was amazing.. If you are not. Used to that sort of a thing, be aware that it initiallysmells strong until you're used to it, or have a positive association. It will also severely tarnish any silver jewelry you are wearing, I learned that. The evening swim is adult only in clothing optional , I will say that more than half of the folks there chose to go full nude. So be prepared. There is a fantastic sauna and steam shower that are pretty great. The garden grounds and property was so peaceful and relaxing, the birds were singing the entire time. This is a very natural healing space. It's not a polished cookie cutter campground. The staff were more than impressive each and every person that we interacted with was professional, knowledgeable, helpful and really friendly. There is no drugs, alcohol, or smoking allowed on the common grounds which is nice to be able to camp and swim without of a bunch of loud, obnoxious people causing problems. We were bummed that there were not fire rings in each camp site. They do have some common fire rings though we did not navigate there. Also, we went during the time of year that cotton was heavily floating around in the air, so if you have any type of allergies , you may wanna be prepared for that. We brought our bikes and were able to find a nice bike path that took us into downtown Ashland where we hung out for a bit on two of the days that we camped. I would recommend this place to any of my family and friends.

The pools themselves are nice, people seemed respectful yet open. There are changing rooms and hot showers with soap. I'd like to give some advice to anyone making a camping reservation here. It's really not the serene meadow you see pictured on the website. It's parallel with hwy 99 and traffic is non-stop. We thought it would die down after a certain hour on a weekday, but it did not. I know campgrounds are hit and miss with fellow campers but we must have missed because there was a group of people up until 2am chatting and cackling and playing music from a phone. I wish there had been a more proactive camp host to shut that down. When we used the bathroom in the morning, it was a bit horrifying. Very grungy - it seemed that all of the on-site community and RV campers and tent campers use the same facility, which was a tiny space with a shower and 3 toilet stalls but the stalls were so small there couldn't have been more than 8 inches between the toilet seat and stall door. I had to spread my knees to get the door shut. We reserved 4 nights but left the first morning - mostly due to traffic noise, but all of the circumstances together made it worth losing that money and spending more on a hotel in town.

So I'd really like to say that I don't know where to start, but I kind of do. I'd like to start by apologizing to the lady at the front desk. I did not mean to yell at her, I just had my nerves all kinds of jangled. I was actually yelling at the man on the bicycle, but at that point I can't lie, I was pretty tightly wound. Google is forcing me to edit this story to something shorter so here's the bare bones: the first teepee was nasty inside, lots of loud people that were clearly high in this campground. Like something was not right with them, let's be clear. I made a complaint that it was dirty and I felt unsafe. Both of which are true. I get moved to the Sequoia teepee which I scoped out and said OK, in lieu of getting my money back. I'd been driving for 7 hours and worked a 12 hr shift the night before, I just wanted to go to sleep. I get my stuff set up, and I sat down to eat in the unloading zone because there's picnic tables there and I would be quick. Before I can even get my food out I was accosted by a lady in a yellow dress panhandling me for food & money. Once she eventually leaves, I get out my uncrustable & my carrot sticks. I'm not even halfway done with my carrots and I see movement in the shadows of a building awning across from me (at this point it's dark outside.) This man did not call out to me, he did not let me know of his presence. He waited until I said something to him. Que him harping about this gate at the end of the unloading zone & how it needs to be shut, & I offer to move at that time. We hash it out; I'll shut the gate when I'm done. No big deal right? (Except why can't I park my car there?) But I'm not having a conversation with a reasonable human being which became a parent, VERY early on. He eventually leaves after much discussion & I'm one bite into my uncrustable, when I see movement in the shadows AGAIN. This time it's an old man on a bicycle. Who then approaches me about this gate AGAIN. I'm like, bro I just finished hashing this out with someone else. Be gone with you. I say to him, you guys understand I've now had two men & a lady approach me in the dark while I'm by myself, with no lights on, so I can't see you and no acknowledgement that you're coming up on me. Do you understand that I don't feel safe here because of this? He ignores this and goes back to talking about the gate, which, by the way, isn't locked or anything. It just latches, definitely not foiling a crime. And also, we've already got this figured out! It's just not a big deal. And the reason I hadn't starting eating was cuz I was busy hiding everything that looked appealing to these crazy people so my car wouldn't get broken into overnight. Because that's where I was at mentally. Instead of just leaving or acknowledging that maybe him coming at me in the dark made me uncomfortable, he proceeds to argue with me. I tell him what time does your office stay open? Because I want my money back I'm not staying here, I don't feel safe. He takes off on the bicycle which I presume was to go warn the office about my impending arrival. He then proceeds to again argue with me in front of the front door to the office that is now locked, and I don't know where the lady is. He says she must be cleaning & I said go get her then since you seem to want to be part of this. Like dude, why are you so worried about this gate that you want to engage me like this? You cost this business money. They paid me back & if they hadn't refunded me, I would have taken it up with my credit card company which I was threatening to do when the lady arrived again. As a single woman traveling alone I cannot explain enough how much I would not recommend coming to this place, at all, for any reason. The place is an absolute dump & for sure nobody is sober. I really tried to be fair & give them the good try even though I did see other reviews from other women saying they also did not feel safe. Keep yourself safe, & let them run the business that they run, like into the ground where it's headed. God bless that was the worst experience...

“Jackson Wellsprings is a HOT spring resort” Hi future campers I been coming to this resort since 2012 I have a 36 foot motorhome and tow a Chevy Spark.... combined ...over 50feet long...There are multiple pull through sites I use ..with full hook ups 20 30 and 50 amp service.. I fill my fresh water tank before I leave my house which I use for my bathroom and kitchen There is filtered water to the right of the office to drink :at the water fountain and a spigot to fill your gallon jugs which I use .Sulfur in the water outlet at the campsite? ..yes...This place sits on top of a natural mineral HOT spring heated deep into the earths crust.. The pool (which is cool) and hot tub are square with tile sides and concrete bottoms and are huge. There is a steam room that can fit your whole family in if wanted. The hot tub and steam room are heated by the natural HOT spring water and receive constant maintenance...There are PRIVATE hot tubs for that totally private romantic soak to There is a post 1 week ago that stated "There were layers of dead skin cells floating in the water and a hair" The layers of dead skin cells are actually Cottonwood tree seedlings that are floating in the air and go everywhere...There probably was a hair...We're humans that shed 50-100 hairs a day...Maybe next time instead of complaining...you could grab the pool leaf skimmer and remove the hair..or a leaf or anything that BUGS you ...like everybody else does.... The people I have met at this resort are amazing and come here from all over the United States.. The staff is so friendly and helpful.. There are home made treats baked every day.. I use their shower everyday ...I can sit in the bathroom stalls with no issues at all.. There's a place to do laundry to You should read about the health benefits of sulfur and mineral water... I did my research before I came to this resort.. Sulfur and mineral HOT spring water has antibacterial and antifungal properties that can soothe and treat skin conditions like eczema ,acne. and psoriasis The hot mineral rich waters can help with pain reduction and rehabilitation. .Soaking in the hot tub will reduce stress and increase endorphin production. The sulfur may help with digestive problems lower blood pressure and cholesterol and help with premenstrual issues and female reproductive issues...You can sleep in your car...tent in the meadow...there are Bell Tents ...Domes...Tipi's to...something for everyone Do I live here NO am I an owner NO....I'm a retired general contactor that loves the hot tub and sulfur and mineral water that soothes all my aches and degenerative disk disease ...my wife has some arthritis in her bones...and the hot tub really helps her...She loves this place like I do and looks forward to our stay here...This is the first vacation we book every year I can guarantee this....within five minutes of being in the hot tub...all your pain and stresses of life will go away...That's only one of the reasons I drive over 430 miles ... 6 hours and 45 minutes to stay here.. Read about the history of Jackson Wellsprings, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised...Also research the towns around Ashland world class fishing ..antique stores ..old pubs...pool halls...places to play darts....a lot of golf courses places to shop... hundreds of places to eat....I could write a book about southern Oregon...hopefully my comments will help you make a decision about this amazing resort and area See you in the hot tub after 6pm ;) Terry aka...

My second visit was yesterday 9/25 at 5:10 p.m. I have NEVER left a bad review for an establishment. I work in customer service and know how important reviews are to businesses. This time I needed to speak up!

My daughter and I had visited a few months back with a friend and had a good experience. My friend was overcharged for the pool, but we had a good time with our kiddos anyway. My daughter was so excited to go back before it got cold this fall and when Dad could come too. We have been waiting all summer for the smoke to clear out from the wildfires and to get time off together. We have been working and homeschooling hard all year and were in much need of a fun break together. We drove from Gold Hill to Ashland (45 mins one way!) When we arrived, we walked in unacknowledged and waited in line for 15 mins while the two gentlemen in front of us took their time checking in and getting the full details of the facility. We finally took a seat because we got tired of standing. Two ladies walked in and hugged on the guys that were checking out at the register. I assumed they were all together. After waiting another 10 minutes, the first customers left and I then realized we were cut in line by the two ladies who had walked in 10 mins after we got there. Never once were we acknowledged by your customer service attendant. I really wanted to speak up, but my poor family was so dissapointed and let down that I got too upset to say anything. I asked how late kiddos were even able to swim on the way out, (5:35 pm) "7p.m." She responded. Nothing else! (?) So dissapointed she let adults cut in front of a child. My daughter was so excited, she came dressed in her suit, ready to go!

Customer service is EVERYTHING to an establishment! I have been in C.S. since I was 12, now 32. You never ignore ANY customer that comes in your door. Especially a super sad little 10 year old girl that was SO EXCITED to come swimming and had waited for months. It was going to be a less than 5 minute transaction to get my daughter into the pool. SUPER DISSAPOINTED and will never be back. I will be sure my friends know how it was for us this time as well. MUCH too far to drive for that...
