The only reason I'm giving this restaurant a one star is because there isn't a lower rating.... We went in sat down and waiter brought us water and we let him know we were ready to order... He left us waiting while he bused a table, chit chatted with co-workers and basically ignored us for 20 minutes. We were about to walk out when he returned and asked "Now that you've settled in are you ready to order?" Fish n' chips... where to begin... At what point in the life of frozen cod does it become dry and rubbery and take on that fishiness that is hovering around 'about to turn' territory? Yep, that's where this fish was... which he assured me they just got in fresh today. Either he was lying or his supplier needs to be taken to task. Cole slaw usually has some sort of dressing... and if not when waitstaff is made aware of it, best to not argue with your customer that "we lightly dress it." Let the customer know you'll bring a side of dressing so it will be to their liking. Unfortunately, in this case, no amount of additional dressing could have disguised the flavor of every other item that had been in the walk-in for the past week that had permeated the cabbage. I was afraid to eat it. I thought that I would be a good customer (though this was my third and final visit) and speak directly to him about our experience... It didn't get through to him. This is why I am writing this review, because the best customer is one who is willing to speak up when they're dissatisfied because what they have to say in key to making important improvements. If you do not listen, believe me, that former customer will warn everyone they know. Key here is this: They need a chef, one that knows how to make slaw and other standard dishes on the menu and more importantly manage the inventory (particularly meat, chicken and fish) so that there is no risk to diners. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, but the food is marginal at best. If you want dinner, this isn't the place to get a good meal. If you want beer or wine, have lots of time on your hands to wait for staff to get around to you, and you want to hang out with the locals, this is a good...

I gave Hilltop a whirl way back in 2019, when I was still young and vibrant. I remember my first time fondly, I had ordered bacon mac and a blue pool. I went home that evening and had the greatest sleep of my life. A truly magical experience.
It’s now 2020 I’m much more refined. Hilltop has become a traditional Friday night stop after seemingly endless work weeks. I’ve interacted with a couple very wizardly staff, some can pour me the greatest Blue Pool, however, one needs special recognition, Lisa, she plugs my chicken primavera order in the computer like none other I’ve ever seen, whips up a meanest tequila coke and lime cocktail and is quite pleasant to chit chat with. I think Ruby (bad review warrior) had a bad day ‘cause Lisa has excellent control over her salivary glands and is a sweetheart.
If I worked for Michelin I’d give them a star, but I don’t so Hilltop gets 5 Dave stars instead.....
Read moreFood was great for a Friday Nite snack meal. I had the cod tacos, friends had the pork and apple, and the blue cheese burger, additionally each had a side salad or French fries. Fries were. great, nice cooked and not greasy at all. they tasted more baked than deep fat fried. We all agreed our food was very tasty. Not too much that we were over-stuffed. It wasn't too noisy for a bar, and we were seated right by the kitchen. (usually pretty loud in most places... but not here... just tempting dinners being placed out for...
