I come into this location pretty religiously after work to get take out food since they are open late, which I really appreciate. One of the nights that I was getting takeout, I noticed that they have karaoke on Saturday nights. For this reason, myself and my group of friends have been coming in regularly. Overall, I really enjoy the environment and the food, but there is one consistent thing I have an issue with, that being the service.
Saturday, March 30th- Myself and 7 other individuals (large party) came in for karaoke/ to celebrate my birthday. We were greeted by a male bartender who asked if we wanted to put in any beverages. In response, I let him know that we were still waiting for other people to arrive and we would just take waters until then. He dropped off the waters several minutes later and never once returned to follow up if we wanted anything. This immediately deterred us from wanting to even order.
Yesterday, we returned once again for karaoke and this time we sat at a table in the restaurant portion. This time around, it was still a large group of 7 people with me. When greeted at the table, our server, Mary R, did not introduce herself nor did she have a friendly demeanor. I only am aware of her name due to the receipt we were given. We had to constantly remind her to refill our beverage pitcher and she did not check in on us at all after the food was brought out. I saw that she was checking up on the customers at the bar, but did not give us that same energy. Coleslaw was suppose to be included in 2 of our meals (we were charged for it), and we never even got it. We also asked to have the check split in which her response was that it wasn't possible. We then had to go out of our way to track down the manager, Ethan, to get it split since I knew that they had the capability to split checks, she just didn't want to put effort into doing so.
When it comes to the environment and food, I will hands down always recommend Barraco's, but the service is definitely not where it should be for a fine-dining restaurant. I normally am not one to judge, since I am a server myself and understand the food industry, but I was truly so appalled by the consistent negative demeanor I am faced with from staff every time I dine in. As a customer, I want to feel like I and the people that come with are valued and we fully enjoy our experience dining in. There is no reason why we should be left feeling dissatisfied with our service time and time again. There's no other way to explain my experiences dining in here other than it not feeling welcoming at all. Especially since I have become someone that comes in / brings reoccurring business to them weekly (especially a big group), you would think that I would have more pleasant things to say.
Ultimately, I think they have potential to become a 5/5, but for me, they are not quite there. I hope to see the service change...
Read moreMy baby shower was held at this barracos location in january 2022. The reason for the 2 stars is the servers were good.
Their “party planner” Fran, however, was very unpleasant to work with. She didn’t reach out when she said she would. She was hard to get ahold of to ask any questions and she is the only person who could answer anything. Had a bad phone experience with a person when I called 2 weeks before to get details figured out.
The party was nice the food was OK. Baked mostaccoli noodles were crunchy- not like crunchy from the broiler like crunchy they were under cooked. The grilled chicken and veggies were actually really good.
We were charged $80 for a “punch bowl” of sangria- that’s what it was labeled on the party menu. It was actually a very small drink dispenser that was filled completely with ice and then sangria. It was hard to dispense the drinks and for $80 we didn’t even get 10 glasses of sangria.
Also, there was a snow storm the night before so there were about 10 guests that couldn’t make it. We had to still pay for them which is fine we understood that. However, they were unwilling to give us the food for the people missing even though we payed for it. I have been in this position before at other establishments and have always been given the food that we payed for.
I would not recommend this venue for a party to anyone. I will never be back. Everything circles back to Frans poor customer service. She said her kids and her were really sick which is understandable but this was my at shower and I will never forget how poorly we...
Read moreThis establishment is very rude and disrespectful to it’s patrons. I spoke with the manager Jennifer to explain that the chicken was very rubbery. But I never got the opportunity as she was very curt and rude. I hadn’t even spoken a word unfortunately before she verbally assaulted me. She accused me of desiring a free meal. And I simply wanted a nice meal after working a 12 hour shift serving others. She rolled her eyes forcefully trashing the food without hearing why I dislike the rubbery chicken. Then she accused me of wanting a free meal as I sat in my scrubs after a hard day of work. She forcibly trashed the food then she insulted me. She treated me like I was beneath her. I had not even said a full sentence. I understood that I was not welcomed as a patron here as she walked off before I finished explaining. As hurtful as this encounter was, I realized where I am unwelcome. I want to thank her for trying to show me my place. I don’t get the option to treat people like dirt as a registered nurse, but even if I could, I would never. Everyone deserves to be treated like a person. Unfortunately...
