Chicken Factory (Zabiha Halal) — Restaurant in Orland Township

I used to be a regular here, but I haven’t been in a while, so I decided to stop by and give it another shot. Honestly, I was really disappointed. The quality of the food has gone way down. It was never super consistent to begin with — portion sizes were always hit or miss — but now it’s just bad.

The service also isn’t great, especially if you’re not Arab. I used to order the $7.99 leg and thigh meal and would ask for no bread (not even toasted) and extra coleslaw instead. The lady at the front would take forever just to put that into the system, and then I’d still end up with bread and no extra coleslaw. She always looks confused and like she doesn’t know what she’s doing, so good luck if you’re hoping for good service.

As for the food — it used to be decent, but not anymore. I ordered the Factory Bowl and asked for tenders like I used to, since they used to let you pick between tenders, wings, or a thigh. When I opened it, they gave me wings instead. I also got a 3-piece tender on the side, which was super dry and chewy. It wasn’t even real tenders — just chicken breast cut into strips.

Another red flag was the oil they used to fry everything. The chicken came out way too dark, which makes me think the oil was old or hadn’t been filtered in a while. Not long after eating, I got really sick — probably because of that.

Long story short, I wouldn’t recommend this place anymore. Just take your money to Cane’s or Popeyes — they’re way more consistent and...

I wish I could give this establishment 0 stars because that’s what they deserve. I placed an order for my coworkers and myself online and was highly disappointed. We all ordered chicken and fries and one order of chicken and waffles. Our total was $138.00. Went to pick the order up and was told that they didn’t have waffles because the cook didn’t know how to make it… I asked how could they accommodate me considering they didn’t have what I ordered. I was told that I could have a pop or a dessert. I asked could I just get fries since the person was a diabetic and they didn’t eat sweets… The lady said, with an attitude “NO WE CANT DO THAT.” Now I’m puzzled because I just spent all this money and you can’t accommodate me with a fry. After going back-and-forth with this unpleasant lady and some hesitation on her end she says…. “ well I can only do it this one time” I WILL NOT BE THERE ANOTHER TIME!!! Really wanted some lemon pepper fried chicken (I always want it actually 😆), so we tried a new place! Chicken Factory is sooooo good! 100/10! Chicken is AMAZING! Caramel cake is AMAZING! They have so much more than chicken also! Can’t wait to go back & try more items! Really looking forward to the lemon cake! Assuming it was the owner at the register when I picked up my order, but they were so nice & easy to have a conversation with!
