Let me start by saying I usually only write reviews when I really like a place and want to support the business to make sure they thrive and are always there for us to continue to frequent. With that being said, this is my first negative review I’ve written. We ordered drinks to start our experience and I ordered the Pineapple Cilantro Lemonade Cocktail. It was delicious, but I noticed absolutely no trace of alcohol. I mentioned it to our server who came back and said the bartender said it was because the mix was so strong I couldn’t taste the alcohol (pretty sure no mix used for this drink). So I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered another. Still did not taste like an adult cocktail. Just for fun I ordered a third. Still nothing, but we will come back to the drink later. My wife ordered the avocado salad, it came with no dressing, she asked about it and was told the dressing was on there. She tried it and it most definitely was not on there. So they brought her the dressing. No big deal. As she started to eat it she noticed the lettuce was very suspect and she did not feel comfortable continuing with it. Everyone else’s meal was fine, But unfortunately it was just fine. Average at best. Mildly disappointed with the quality of the food across the board to be completely honest. Server was doing his best and was very nice but it was clear he had no idea what he was taking about when we asked questions and just said whatever he thought sounded good. The place just opened so they definitely get a pass on that. Now back to the drink and the reason why i give it two stars. The drinks I paid $11 each for that I couldnt taste the alcohol in……well it turns out they had no alcohol in them. How do I know? Well, my wife bought a little breathalyzer off of Amazon to keep in the car to make sure we never get behind the wheel overserved. I decided to try it to prove my point how watered down the drinks were. 0.0 was my result within 10 minutes of finishing my 3rd drink. My buddy who drank beers was a .10 on the same breathalyzer so I know it was working. In my eyes that’s practically stealing and the reason for the bad review. We...
Read moreThis place is a must-go. The ambient atmosphere and modern-deco feel is a new experience for a bar. My dad and I went a bit early to beat the dinner rush, but the place gets real crowded, so reserve ahead!
Lots of TVs and the waiters and waitresses are really laid back and nice. Great service and plenty of staff to help out. Now on to the food.
Poutine was salty, tangy, and the pork was very tender, complimenting the thick-cut waffle fries well and balancing out the textures. The cheese was gooey and thick enough to choke on, which is a good thing in this case. The full order was enough to sub for a meal, quite filling, and reasonably priced at $14.50.
The sausage platter was intriguing. I had never tried two of the three sausages on the plate. One was a typical Polish-style sausage. The others were more interesting: one tasting like a cheese-filled brat and the other being bitter, tangy, and foreign to my taste buds. The sauerkraut was very good and the mustard was a ground variation that I’ve never seen served at a restaurant. Lots of variety, would be a good meal to share amongst friends.
The steak sandwich was superb. It was essentially grilled fajitas on a hoagie. The steak was perfectly cooked to a medium and the green peppers and grilled onions were flavorful. The side onion rings were pretty basic, however the chipotle ranch dip was very mild and tasty. The jalapeños had a kick (which I’m not accustomed to), however I suffered through it and came out with a cleansed palate in time for dessert.
The dessert was scrumptious. It featured a chocolate milkshake (that tasted identical to mousse) with a tart whipped cream to balance out the sweetness, garnished with cocoa shaving. Right next to it was 5 giant, delicious, melt-in-your-mouth apple cider cinnamons donuts. They were extremely sweet, but were fantastic nonetheless. The caramel dip was a perfect compliment. Best dessert I’ve ever had from a restaurant.
I would definitely tap into this spot because it was quite grove-y. And you are definitely going to want to come back for a second trip! We are already...
Read moreThe place is very nice inside. Waitress and staff were friendly. The food, however, is an entirely different story. Had the poutine appetizer. Not bad. Then the sandwiches we ordered arrived. Gf got a burger and I got the BLT. Both ridiculously disappointing...to be kind. The pictures online show a delicious looking hand made semi-thick beef patty. What you get is far from that. You get a patty that's MUCH smaller than the pic AND the bun. Looks to be a typical frozen patty from any drive up restaurant only overpriced. Flavorless is how she put it. Now for my "thick cut bacon" BLT. The "bacon" was definitely thick cut. You'd have been hard pressed to find any meat on it. When it arrived, I thought it was mayo squeezing out of the bread. Nope. Thick cut slab of fat. Literally THEE WORST bacon I've ever had. I even pulled it off the bread to look at it and was showing my gf how it was 99% a slab of fat as the waitress walked past. She didn't even stop. I think she knows their food is garbage but what can she do about it? I will say this positive point...very good fries. If you're a restaurant and you can't make a good hamburger or BLT.....that's pretty sad. Can't speak to their drinks or beers. I don't drink much. Maybe significant amounts of alcohol make the food better...idk. Try the place of you want. I...
