Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in Orland Township

Not sure what is happening here but I have never felt racially profiled until today. Came here to pick up a cake for a birthday and was not greeted until about 10 minutes after being in here. Then was told to please wait. The same person went and helped the next customer which was a family of 5. I then started to look in the back and found two other workers there. One guy proceeds to walk out and guess what... He begins to help the FAMILY OF 5!!!!! I can't make this up. So here we are standing there waiting for a cake now for 20 minutes!!! Then he finishes and goes back into the back. The lady then checks out the family and ask us finally..... How can I help you? We tell her we are here for a pickup of a cake. She gets it and comes back in literally 30 seconds. We then ask why does it take 30 minutes to grab a cake for us that takes 30 seconds to grab. She says "I didn't know you were here to pick up a cake" well I not only stood at the online pick up line, but also was never asked "am I here for pickup?" nor did she ask the two gentleman in the back to come out to help or even ask. She says "Again we didn't know u were here for a pickup". So just to prove it, I have a picture of my family in the line while we were waiting. Can't wait to share this with nextdoor. I'll be calling corporate as well. Btw I'm a black male and again have never felt racially profiled in this city until...

I LOVE COLD STONE, BUT I don't even come close to liking this location. I really feel like the man helping me was being too dismissive. I literally made my order as easy as possible by ordering the same 3 combinations & said he can mix them together as one then separate them into bowls. OR he could have put it all in the bigger quart container (but I would have been charged less). I had 1 love it & 2 gotta have it. From what I saw it appeared to be the opposite, so I confirmed with him again. When he was mixing the last bowl, he scooped off a sizeable portion, so I asked if he's going to mix it all together & he said he scooped it off because it was going to fit in the bowl. Again...it could have gone into a bigger container. It's already been taken out the freezer to be mixed, so u can't put it back & why waste it if the customer is paying for it? I'll also note that none of the 3 bowls were filled to capacity, so his explanation didn't make sense. I'd rather drive to Oak Lawn or Homewood instead of coming back to this location. You should always treat every customer like they matter. Don't put a tip jar on the counter when your service...

I would give them a zero but not able to.

I ordered a cookie dough ice cream. I go to take a bite knowing it will just plain cookie right and it tastes like straight up PEANUT BUTTER. Mind you that I'm allergic to all peanuts/ peanut, and felt an allergic reaction in my mouth and on my tongue. I saw the teenager workers rinsing off the scoops before serving me and my friend, so why did my ice cream taste like peanut butter. The workers need to NOT MIX THE SCOOPS ( I can't reiterate that enough),clean off the counter after each customer has been served. I understand that there are peanut ingredient toppings but people have allergies they need to be careful! Never had any problems at Cold Stone...
