My recent experience at Sushi Nova in Orland Park was an absolute nightmare, rife with disorganization and a shocking disregard for customer service. Arriving at 6pm with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday, we were told there would be a 15-30 minute wait for our table. After providing our contact information and receiving a confirmation text at 6:08pm, we patiently waited for our table. As the wait dragged on, our anticipation turned to frustration when we watched other parties who arrived well after us be seated ahead of us. When I voiced my concerns to the hostess after a party of five was seated at 6:45pm, she dismissed me, claiming they were merely adding a chair to an existing table of four. The situation worsened when, at 7:00pm, customers were seated at a table next to a vacant one that could have easily been combined to accommodate our group of six. Upon pointing this out to the hostess, she looked dumbfounded and promised a table would be ready shortly. Alas, the table in question was already occupied by a party of four who had paid their bill and were idly scrolling through their phones, completely unaware of the chaos unfolding around them. Having now waited an hour and a half—far longer than the initial estimate—I pleaded with the hostess to consider our situation. Shockingly, another hostess intervened, stating that their policy forbids asking people to leave, even when they have already paid. This utter lack of logic left me stunned and questioning their disregard for potential business. Resigned to our fate, we continued waiting until 7:41pm, when we received a text alerting us that our table was finally ready. In a rushed and unapologetic manner, the hostess shouted our party's name and carelessly tossed menus onto a table, which we presumed was ours due to her hasty departure. Throughout this ordeal, not a single staff member showed concern or offered a sincere apology. By the time we finished our meal and left the restaurant at 9:22pm, the extent of the mismanagement and poor service became painfully clear. Our birthday celebration was ruined, and the staff never took responsibility for their errors or offered any compensation for our wasted time. Sushi Nova's chaotic table management and unapologetic customer service left me feeling disrespected and disappointed. Their refusal to prioritize our group's experience or recognize the severity of their shortcomings reveals a deep disregard for customer satisfaction. While their all-you-can-eat sushi menu may be tempting, I cannot recommend Sushi Nova in Orland Park as a place to celebrate a special occasion or enjoy a meal with friends. Until they address their dismissive staff, inefficient policies, and lack of basic customer care, potential customers should look elsewhere for an enjoyable...
Read moreI had never been to an all you can eat sushi place but two of my besties are frequenters at this establishment so they gave me and the other besties a rundown of how these places go. The sheet you fill out to let them know which and how many rolls you want is such a clever idea! It made ordering so much easier! We were all super hungry walking into this meal (it was a 20 minute wait - on. Wednesday night too). Once we filled out our sheets, the waiter was pretty quick in picking them up and getting the other orders (two besties who didn't want to do the all you can eat).
They have so many sushi roll options so there's really an option for anyone. My other besties got 3-4 rolls but I went for 5 cause I was extra hungry and I was visiting from out of state so who knows when I'd get the chance to visit this place again. I don't fancy spicy flavors so I got a lot of the rolls without the hot pepper next to them on the menu. I also got a nigiri roll (the skinned tofu one) and it was simple, but really flavorful. I can't remember which rolls I got exactly but I attached a picture below. Everything was so good but then again I'm really easy to please so it's not hard to impress me. Me and some of the other besties got crab rangoons for appetizers and they were simply immaculate as well. The sauce that came with them was also really tasty (and had a little kick to it). All I can say is if this place is like most other all you can eat sushi places, I will be continuing to go to these types of places once I head back home...
Read moreHands-down best AYCE sushi I've experienced in Chicagoland. Staff is always friendly, restrooms are always clean... but that AYCE is the meat and potatoes. They have a wide selection on their menu, but the cream on top is that the workers (typically) know how to make the nigiri and rolls. Outside of restaurants that have more of a reputation for higher-end sushi, I only go for AYCE when eating sushi. All the other AYCE places I've eaten at either put too much rice (here's looking at you Sushi Naper), or the quality of the fish they use is sub-par to only passing. Sushi Nova strikes the best balance with theirs. When I'm tired of trying new AYCE or want to get great AYCE, I go here! They also have mochi ice cream for their dessert, tho its limit to 1 per order. Also, the appetizers/soup/salad/rice section selections are great! If you got a friend who isn't big on sushi, the these sections will still deliver! The only gripe, if any, is that (depending on where you are seated) the space between tables is small inside since they try to fit alot of tables and the low lighting atmosphere could be better. Also, you can tell that people don't really ask for wine here because the bottles they keep in the wine rack have dust. ..but we're talking about AYCE sushi here, so if the place is clean and I can scoot myself at the table, 99% of the grade is...
