Update 8-14-25. Just wanted to provide update that Juicy Crab management did reach out to me and extended an offer to return to eat on them with a gift card. Again my opinion that they have one of the best crab joints in the south suburb has not changed. I still love the flavor of their seafood boils. While I enjoyed my take out of crab legs and crawfish, much better than I received when I wrote the review, I also hope that management has improved their customer service as well. Seafood is expensive so efforts should be made to resolve customer concerns immediately. I appreciate their effort to acknowledge my concern and try to correct the issue.
Update; Please be advised they are not sincere in their reply to your concern. In the reply they requested I contact them via email and explain what happened and they would try and make it right. This is just for show. They do not care. Management is related to the owners so we know nothing will happen with that. I emailed them as they instructed and it's been over a week with no reply again they asked that I reach out. This lets me know there was no real concern they only wanted to keep up appearances so they reply to your Yelp and Google review but again no action was taken.
Original review: The quality of seafood is very poor along with the Management Kelly Wu or whatever the name is. I ordered the two cluster snow crab seafood boil bag. When I received the bag, there were two of the smallest snow crab clusters I've ever seen. Smaller than my hand. I asked to speak to a manager and the server Kevin stated there was no one on site and he would have to call. I took his word that he was calling for which I believe he did but took a half hour to tell me his manager's verdict. Very slick move so that I would begin to eat and not cancel the meal and leave!
He finally returned after a half hour or more saying the manager said no, two clusters are two clusters regardless of the size. This is unacceptable! I asked how can the manager respond without taking a photo or doing any investigation. He reports she investigated on via the camera (from another location) and because the was 1 extra broken leg piece in the bag, that was supposed to compensate for the tiny clusters. I've been coming here for as long as they have been in Orland and actually continued because of the quality but this is dishonest and plain robbery to charge me the same amount knowing full well the product is Sub par. Additionally, my server had several tables and the bar to deal with, meanwhile the host and carry-out folks played on the cellphone at a dining table the entire time. This is nothing but an indicator of poor management and supervision.
I can afford a crab boil and do not have to scheme MRs Wu for a crab leg, just wanted to get what I had paid for. The server made us aware that management was aware of the shipment of crab and their small size. This to me means you MRS Kelly greedily decided to charge folks the same money knowing they are getting less crab for their money and throwing in 1 broken off baby leg was your way of clearing your conscience of what you are doing.
Do better please! If I am spending my hard earned cash in your establishment, at least act like you care and improve your...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for quite some time, appreciating their delicious food and usually efficient service. However, my recent experiences have been deeply disappointing. Over the course of my last few visits, they have messed up our order a total of four times. Despite giving them numerous chances, the service continues to decline.
During my last visit with my family, we waited over an hour for our food, which is unusually long for this establishment. The waitress was apologetic, explaining that the kitchen staff had not placed our order promptly. When the food finally arrived, it was much spicier than requested, even though we specifically asked for no spice, making it inedible for my children. The waitress assured us that the manager would adjust the bill, but the manager never appeared.
I attempted to resolve this by calling the restaurant multiple times, but the manager was consistently unavailable. Today, when we placed another order for pickup, it was incorrect again. I drove 20 minutes back to the restaurant to request a remake. Suspecting they might not actually remake the order, I was disheartened to discover this was true. Upon returning home, I found the same order with the lobster tail I had previously cut in half, proving it was not remade. When I called back, I reached the same staff member who displayed an unprofessional attitude, insisting that the order had been remade before abruptly hanging up on me.
This entire ordeal cost us 80 minutes of driving back and forth, only to be met with poor service and a lack of accountability. It's unacceptable for a restaurant to handle customer concerns in this manner. Whoever manages this place should know that customers will not tolerate being disregarded and mistreated. I will not return to this restaurant ever again and will make sure my family and friends are aware of the poor service and unprofessionalism we experienced. Until significant improvements are made, I strongly advise others to avoid this establishment. I gave one star since no...
Read moreBeen wanting to visit as i am a seafood fan. This location was a previous chain restaurant and juicy has added some nice decorative touches to the interior to add a cool flavor and vibe. Ordered a long island iced tea from the bar as it was the drink special of the day. VERY well mixed and made as it should be...excellent mixology! Started off with a bowl of seafood gumbo..full of flavor, spice..VERY decent sized chunks of shrimp and veggies including okra and tomatoes..just fantastic! Went for some fried seafood and chose the catfish basket. Comes with your choice of seasoned or non-seasoned fries or even sweet potato fries. I chose the (seasoned) cajun fries which were EXCELLENT. Also ordered a side of coleslaw..which was heavy shredded with the most delicious dressing ever on coleslaw.. thick, rich and sweet in flavor...just so good!! The catfish was nicely lightly breaded and cooked to perfection.... the flesh of the fish was flaky and moist...pure and clean in taste..yet with that awesome catfish flavor. Youll know it if youve had catfish before. I usually dont order catfish in restaurants here up north..but Juicy HAS done this fish EXACTLY as they prepare it down south. My server brought me a metal bucket with silverware, a lobster bib, bottle of catsup, wetnap, a sealed packet with a pair of food-grade gloves, a couple of souffle cups with a nice dilly tartar sauce, a cup of remoulade sauce and a cup of a creamy garlic-like sauce. What a wonderful meal I had..in a nice relaxing atmosphere..everything was so good and prepared to perfection! Clean restaurant as well and that is always good! Next time, i will try their boiled/ steamed seafood which comes with a corn cobette, potatoes and your choice of any of the best sea creatures you like best... from shrimp to crawfish to lobster tail and green and black mussels and crab also. An excellent all-around culinary experince. Service was excellent and accurate..thank you kindly, Savannah. Juicy has much to be proud of in what they are serving and in their...
