We have a new favorite local restaurant! Last night we had the pleasure of dining at Frankie’s, an exquisite Italian restaurant in Tinley Park. From the moment we stepped through the door, we enveloped in a remodeled ambiance with hand-made stenciled gorgeous wallpaper on the walls. First and foremost, let's talk about the food. Every dish that graced our table was a symphony of flavors, expertly crafted, bursting with authenticity and all very reasonably priced. Whether it was the delicate handmade tasty char-grilled octopus in balsamic reduction, fresh cold crisp Caesar salad with home-made Caesar salad dressing or the perfectly Marra Forni brick wood-fired authentic southern Italian Calabrese pizza and Burrata cheese pizza, each bite was a culinary authentic masterpiece. In fact, the taste was better than the pizza we had in Italy! Frankie’s truly captures the essence of Italian cuisine, with every ingredient singing in harmony. But what truly sets Frankie’s apart is the warm hospitality of its owners, Frankie and Orazi, and the servers. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like family, taking the time to ensure that every detail of our dining experience was impeccable. It is true what Frankie’s website states, you will always find one or two family members, or more, continuously mixing and mingling with their guests. Frankie, one of the owners, came and sat down at our table and we had a wonderful enjoyable conversation with him. Thereafter, the co-owner, Orazio, stopped by our table and conversed with us and told us about the small town Italy in which he was from and his inspiration for certain dishes on the menu. Both super nice, kind and pleasant gentlemen! Their passion for food and dedication to their craft and hospitality shines through in every aspect of the restaurant, from their charming personalities, decor to the carefully curated wine list. And let's not forget about our server, Karen. She was an absolute delight, guiding us through the menu and providing highly attentive service. Her genuine enthusiasm for the food, the restaurant and ensuring we were enjoying the food only added to the overall experience. In fact, incredibly, several other servers who were not our servers stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal and asking if we needed anything. Spectacular caring service! In addition to the exceptional food and service, Frankie’s also boasts a cozy atmosphere that is perfect for any occasion. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving a taste of Italy, Frankies is sure to exceed your expectations. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience that combines exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a touch of Italian charm, look no further than Frankie’s. Frankie, Orazi, Karen, and the entire team have created something truly special here, and we cannot wait to return for another culinary adventure. Grazie mille, Frankie’s, for a truly memorable evening! We will definitely be returning to dine at Frankie’s on a...
Read moreExtremely important review for young couples considering this restaurant. They also removed my reservation on open table so I cannot leave my review there, even though we got drinks and an appetizer.
The simple gist for those who don’t want to read: My Fiance and I (mid 20s) were treated with disrespect and contempt by the OWNER. He talked poorly of us aloud to the entire restaurant and falsely blamed us for our long wait to order, claiming it was because we were 15 minutes early when in FACT we were only 4 minutes ahead of reservation.
For those who want the details; We had a reservation for 7pm, we arrived at exactly 6:56pm because I have always been raised with “if you’re on time you’re late.”
If this was a problem, we would have had absolutely no problem waiting 4 minutes, but we were sat immediately. It wasn’t until 7:07 a random waitress asked if we had been helped- no we had not. We FINALLY got menus and had decided our appetizer and drinks. Our actual waiter came around now at approximately 7:14, we ordered drinks and our appetizer. In my honest opinion, a restaurant that TIMES your table, should not take almost 20 minutes to check in.
It wasn’t until about 7:24 we got our appetizer and bread at the same time (even though bread was supposed to be brought immediately). We finished our SMALL appetizer in about 5 minutes which is when the OWNER finally brought our drinks (wine and a mixed drink, approximately 7:30). We politely asked if we could get our waiter so we could order our meals, his response? “WELL you came 15 minutes early so you can’t just expect us to serve you so fast. You ate your appetizer very quickly.” Me and my partner obviously in shock by his overly defensive answer, I responded “we came in 4 minutes early, if that was a problem we would’ve waited. All we asked was if our waiter could be sent over because he hasn’t checked in since we ordered our drinks.” And you would’ve thought I cursed his mothers name… he walked over to our waiter half way across the restaurant, and said for the entire establishment to hear “CAN YOU JUST GO GET THEIR ORDER, THEY'RE GIVING ME A HARD TIME”…… At this point everyone was looking at us, we felt embarrassed and we were never rude nor impatient. Our waiter came over, apologized, we told him it was not on him but we needed our check. We paid for all we had ordered, and walked out with our heads high because the owner’s temper tantrum was not going to ruin our date night. We were half way to our car when the owner FOLLOWED us out and asks “you’re not REALLY gonna leave are you? Seriously??” And my Fiancé replied “have a good night” and we left.
The waiters and the owner consistently checked in with all the older couples around us, all while avoiding eye contact with me when we wanted to order. The owner is absolutely an embarrassment for treating paying customers this way.
If you’re a younger couple, please avoid this place. Save yourself the headache of waiting and waiting for the service everyone around you...
Read moreIt looks nice, but it's not. The waitress we had, a middle-aged overly tan woman with black hair, was more than horrible. I watched her look flustered bumbling around, almost hesitating to walk up to any table. I watched her just stand in the way before slowly approaching the table behind us and only from a distance asking if they wanted dessert. Took our order without coming into close contact with anyone, didn't ask if it was our first time there or if were celebrating anything (we were), and then did not bring several items that were ordered. Why did a few of us out of the 8 adults at our table have to order the same thing we already ordered after much of the food had already been delivered? Why did this flustered woman then say "okay well it's going to be about another 20 minutes for that"? WHY? We ordered it already the first time! And she did not bring my drink or condiments and I tried waving her over and she wouldn't come, but bypassed me and snuck to the other end of the table to say "everything ok?" and quickly walk away. Why would you ask that to ONE person at the end of our table and not the whole table? Just because the woman on the other end was fine doesn't mean the other 7 of us are. Why did I have to sit without a drink and condiments until half the people at my table were finished with their meal because she wouldn't come over again? The food, by the way, was WAY overpriced (even in this laughably ridiculous economy) and really subpar. There were 8 adults and 3 children at our table and the kids got tenders and fries... they were like Gordon Food Service stuff thrown in a fryer, really bad quality. Lobster ravioli seemed old somehow. The pizza had a really great flavor, good sauce and cheese, but the pepperoni is grossly thick, awful. And the dough was somehow chewy... really hard to bite off and chew. Why is that? This place looks really nice but in reality is overhyped and really really bad. And don't bother coming here if you're disabled, it's very hard to get through the packed dining room. None of us are but the thought did cross my mind when I struggled to walk through the dining room to get to our back table and bumped people in the backs as I tried to squeeze through with my toddler in my arms. Maybe eliminate a table or two to make a space big enough for people to walk comfortably through...
