Drunken Dumpling — Restaurant in Orlando

Ordered here for the first time a couple weeks ago and boy was I hesitant. I was always seeing this place in my recommended restaurants and I always pushed it aside because as an autistic person I'm really scared to try new places and foods. A day rolled around where I was stuck because the places I usually order from were closed or too out of my price range. I stumbled upon the Drunken Dumpling again, almost as if it was a sign so I decided to take a more in depth look. I looked at the reviews and was really surprised to see all the amazing things people were saying. Almost as if one review was speaking to me specifically it said, "DON'T HESITATE!" and that pretty much sealed the deal for me. I ordered a chicken fried rice and it got here so quickly! Once I took the first bite I was totally blown away, the flavor was amazing!! I didn't have to worry about any weird vegetables because the only ones in it were the onions and beansprouts which were fantastic and super fresh. My only gripe would be with the chicken, it has little to no flavor and is cooked very weirdly in a way that makes it feel undercooked in your mouth when it MOST DEFINITELY ISN'T! I have ordered this on multiple occasions and it seems to be a consistent occurrence with this dish. I have not tried any other dishes from here yet but I have been tempted to try the chicken and broccoli. Gonna reiterate what that other review said, DON'T HESITATE WHEN TRYING...

I was on vacation in Orlando, April 3rd to the 5th. I ordered two Sesame chickens dinners, one lo mien dinner and 4 eggrolls. The lo mien food had pieces of black. The lo mien had a burnt taste to it. The celery was burnt black. The fried rice that came with the Sesame chickens tasted burnt. I paid close to $100 for dinner. I called the same night and complained about the burnt food and taste. The lady that was on the phone said black was not burnt. I don't understand because it was black and it tasted burnt. We were so hungry from being at Universal Park all day and Chinese was the perfect fix however we couldn't eat it because of the burnt flavor. After I tried explaining to the lady that the lo mien was black, she said she would call me right back. I am still waiting for her to call me back and it has been 5 days. I would not recommend this place. The egg rolls had a bland taste to it too. The sweet and sour sauce...

I was so excited to try this place! I had heard so many good things and the hype from TikToks I watched + the descriptions on UberEats really sold me. I really wanted to love it, but I feel like I might have caught them on a bad day, because the food was just so lack luster. The rice was bomb, but I feel like the prices of the food are based more on the portion sizes vs. the actual quality. I’d say the rice and the dumplings were the best part of the whole meal, the pork was nice and tender with some crispy bits so that was yummy, but overall most of the food we ordered lacked consist flavor. $60 worth of food for one person is A LOT, just for it to be mid.
