Mr. Fortescue serves up some unique, delectable ice cream- I’ll tell you what! For an American gal like myself it’s also super refreshing to see more uncommon flavors (because the ones here are more typically popular in the UK because Harry Potter takes place there, duh) such as strawberry peanut butter, earl grey and lavender, clotted cream, toffee apple and more.
You can get it in a cone or a souvenir cup. Those are your options, that’s all you get. You can get the occasional topping as well but it’s at least a dollar extra per topping. Most always the line is long here because I really do think it’s the best ice cream offered in both Universal parks. They also have some options between soft serve or hard packed ice cream, but not every flavor comes in either consistency.
Oh, and this is one place where you can get the treasured butter beer ice cream as well. My personal favorite I’ve tried thus far has to be the chocolate chili, it’s a spicy ice cream and it is fantastic. Super chocolate rich and you slowly start to feel a burn in the back of your throat from the chili after a few minutes. It’s awesome. I also enjoyed the toffee apple a lot, it’s pretty much a calm caramel apple. And if you love banana runts or banana lady taffy then you definitely want to try the banana ice cream.

Read moreI felt the need to leave a review for my first place in a theme park! I love Harry Potter, but as soon as we entered, Lauryn immediately took us out of the enchanted world you are made to believe you are in. My husband caught it first saying -“wow that employee does not want to be here”. You could hear her being abrupt with guests as soon as they ordered, she’d say “perfect, next” as if it were all one word (not in a mumble, more like you’re done, move it). I also noticed another male employee touching the ice cream with no gloves (I work in laboratories, I notice these things). Then my brother was told to wait for hot fudge (that ended up being maybe warm) which he got after close to a ten minute wait. She was very annoyed after my little brother asked her to change the ice cream since it was sitting out pre-scooped that entire time (mind you the ice cream is already melting if you get it right away). She was visibly bothered and fixed it for him last when we were in front of the waiting line 😅 it was very childish- despite us being adults seeing Diagonal Alley for the first time. I recommend staying away from here until this...
Read moreUnlimited ice cream at Florean's was included in our ticket price for the Orlando Informer Meetup so after dinner we had to pay a visit. Located across from the Escape from Gringot's ride you can't miss the building because of the large ice cream cone on top. Inside two animatronic characters in the window spin and pop up to keep you entertained while you wait in line. They had some unusual ice cream flavors like chocolate chili, strawberry and peanut butter, and Earl Grey tea and lavender but nothing so out there that it would give you pause to try it. I settled on the sticky toffee pudding in a waffle cone and I enjoyed the flavor. My daughter chose a soft serve butterbeer flavored ice cream. I probably would have liked it more if I hadn't had the ice cream on top of butterbeer which resulted in an upset stomach. In the future I will stick to one sweet treat. If you haven't been here and you really like ice cream I would try it out but if it was between getting an ice cream or a frozen butterbeer I would go with the more unique treat...
