Today, we visited Pastry San Francisco Company at Universal Studios, and our experience was mixed. Sebastien, who greeted us initially, didn't stand out for his friendliness. When placing our order, including a chocolate croissant, I noticed it was hard and seemed old when touched.
Expressing my concern to Sebastien, his response was abrupt, telling me not to touch it if I planned to return it. This raised concerns – what if I had discovered its hardness when biting into it?
Later, Sebastien, visibly annoyed, discarded the croissant and informed the barista, Luz. Luz's attitude was unpleasant; she returned with a bad mood, loudly asking who had returned the croissant. Mentioning it was me and explaining it was hard and seemed old, Luz responded rudely, insisting they bake every morning at 6 am and it was fresh. At this point, my irritation grew due to Sebastien and Luz's behavior.
The situation improved when Logan, at the cash register, assisted us. He welcomed us warmly with a smile, acknowledging what had happened. Taking the rest of our order, when requesting two special cappuccinos, he communicated to Luz from the register, "two cappuccinos." When asking for oat milk, Logan had to remind Luz to use oat milk, receiving an unfriendly response.
Despite the annoyance caused by Sebastien and Luz, Logan's kindness reassured us. It's worth noting that while waiting for our sandwiches, Luz displayed rude behavior again with other customers, showing a lack of respect in communication. We understand that working with the public can be stressful, especially for someone of older age, but everyone deserves to be treated with dignity.
Food was very good.

Read moredo not go here. if you listen to any reviews listen to this one. firstly, the line que isn't efficient at all, more later. teamwork is horrible. communication between employees with each other and with customers, just as bad. I had ordered 2 mimosas and 2 bacon egg and cheese croissants (btw worst thing I've ever had. couldn't finish 2 bites. they somehow messed up bacon in the sandwich and on top of that have scrambled eggs thrown in that taste and look like baby throw up. you wait inside for your food as theres no one to bring it to you, causing enormous confusion to people that enter as to who's waiting and who's ordering/paying. the layout of the lobby makes zero sense. if you love waiting, this place is for you. they completely forgot about mimossas until I brought it up 10 minutes later and gave us one sandwich when I ordered 2, completely blowing me off as I'm clearly waiting for some sort of communication from staff, and receiving none. apparently the girl who took my order didnt tell her coworker that we had ordered mimossas and instead of seeing we're upset and helping, she appears to be on her phone and walked out to take a break. unprofessional, no one seemed like they wanted to be there. imagine how we all feel....
Read moreWe discovered this absolute gem of a location within Universal quite by accident. It was still early in the morning and our daughter asked if she could see what they had. I thought to myself, "oh boy, here we go" thinking that it was going to be over priced and consistent with the overall low quality of food experiences we had had at Universal up to that point. I can't say enough how glad I was to be surprised. We had the breakfast Bacon, Egg and Cheese croissant, a slice of caramel cheesecake and a slice of their key lime pie along with a cup of coffee. Total it came to less than $30 and it was the best cup of coffee I had all week. The staff were very kind and generous with us while our children tried to figure out what they wanted. The one and only complaint I have is that the space inside is extremely limited, and even in the shade, sitting outside was HOT. If they ever get the chance to expand this building to include indoor and air conditioned seating, this spot would be an absolute must visit for anyone looking for breakfast and desert as they start the day...
