Order: Coffee Chip Ice Cream (Coffee ice cream with chocolate chips) Price: $4 Pros: Great consistency (not too thick or thin), good flavors, quick service, very rich flavor so you genuinely donāt need a lot, plenty of seating indoors. Cons: No descriptions on the ice cream (though they will give you samples), very little outdoor seating.
Thoughts: After getting cake from Fatto In Casa and coffee from Lineage we headed over to Kellyās Ice cream before heading to check into our hotel. While Iām not the worlds greatest fan of ice cream, my wife, arguably, is so she decided we had to try it.
When you walk in you immediately get the feel of an ice cream parlor. There are 20+ flavors of ice cream, they had gelato, milkshake options, and no food (which is good if you specialize in ice cream, at least in my opinion). They staff was friendly and while they will let you sample anything I didnāt love that they didnāt have at least some basic explanation of what the flavors were. We walked in at a pretty slow time but if there were a lot of people it could get pretty tedious having to ask what every flavor is. They also had a lot of seating but unfortunately very little of it was outdoors.
As for the quality of their ice cream it was good, but a little sweet for my tastes. They had a lot of unique flavors but the core flavors (vanilla, chocolate, coffee, etc) didnāt really stand out. I think this would be a fun place to go hang out with friends and eat some decent ice cream, but if youāre just looking for some amazing ice cream, Iām sure you can find...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went tonight for the first time. We were a party of 4. We ordered 2 flights and 2 cups which you still get a cone of your choice on top. My flight was banana pudding, (my favorite and a hit with everyone else), chocolate peanut butter. I never really tasted much peanut butter but others did, toasted coconut, I tasted the shredded coconut but the ice cream didnāt taste much like coconut, and last one was like an almond joy. I did have chunks of almond. Overall, it was ok but nothing I run back for. The portions were really small for $11 for my flight. Iāve had other ice cream places that were better and less money. Our party also had Cookie Monster. That was just sweet, not much flavor. Someone else had passion fruit sorbet and Mexican chocolate. The passion fruit tasted just like the fruit. The Mexican Chocolate was good but just tasted like cinnamon. Didnāt taste the chocolate but it was good. The other flight was, cake batter, tasted like butter, ore dough, pistachio, and German chocolate cake. The pistachio didnāt taste like it though it had pieces of pistachio. German chocolate cake was good. The ore dough tasted like Oreos. Overall happy to try it but at their prices, Iād rather spend $40 on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went to Kelly's for a "first day of Kindergarten" after school treat... We weren't the only ones with the after school treat idea, but it was worth the wait! They have absolutely delicious ice-creams to choose from, and chocolate dipped sugar and waffle cones to accompany your choice. We chose Chocolate Raspberry, Key Lime (Pie?), Vanilla with gummy bears and sprinkles, (with a chocolate dipped and sprinkled cone on top!) and Birthday Cake ice-creams. What a delicious treat! Very flavorful and refreshing... And homemade. Delicious! We plan to return to try more flavors. They do have ice-cream to go, including "tacos" and "cup-cakes"... Very tempting! We liked the children's table, and the restroom was clean and well stocked. Our only "complaint" really has nothing to do with the restaurant, instead has to do with just a couple of unsupervised children throwing dominoes and climbing on the children's stools while the others pulled them out from under the climber... not a great idea... while taking mouthfuls of water and spitting them at each other, all the while, water adding to the growing slippery mess on the floor. My five year old was in disbelief, commenting on how they are getting in trouble. Minus that, a...
