If you're craving a taste of the Gulf Coast in Orlando, look no further than King Cajan Crawfish! My experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional, earning it a well-deserved five-star review.
First and foremost, let's talk about the staff - friendly, helpful, and truly dedicated to ensuring your dining experience is top-notch. Their warmth added an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal.
Now, onto the star of the show - the crab legs. Freshness is key when it comes to seafood, and King Cajan Crawfish delivers. The crab legs had the perfect snap to the shells, a sign of their freshness, and the meat inside was plump and sweet, just as it should be. I opted for mine plain, with just crab, butter, and lemon, and each bite was a delight.
Speaking of portions, the market price for a pound of snow crab was reasonable at $34 per lb (two clusters), especially considering the quality. I couldn't resist ordering a second serving of the legs,I ordered when starting on my second cluster ,ensuring that each bite stayed piping hot and delicious.
And let's not forget dessert! The homemade doughnuts paired with ice cream were the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal.
Overall, King Cajan Crawfish exceeded my expectations in every way. From the impeccable seafood to the attentive service, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Cajun cuisine in Orlando.
Do not judge the food by the location, for it is far from the glitz and glamor of Disney Springs fancy new restaurants that charge $60 plus dollars per person. The "King Cajan Crawfish" building is a functional establishment, not the best condition, it shows some age . (but don't we all ?) remember you did not come here to eat the building, you came here for the food, especially the best snow crab legs in town . *...
Read moreIf you're going for anything, make it the crab. It's excellent. Great variety of sauces, the ShaBang being the best. Really good. The fried catfish and shrimp also pretty decent. The jambalaya had good flavor. I'm pretty sure it was cooked in a Crock Pot. The rice was very gummy so the overall texture was gelatinous which is not something you really want with jambalaya. Also, we pulled a whole bay leaf out of our bowl. Kind of tacky.
The clams were grainy, very fishy. Definitely not cleaned or cooked correctly. The fried oysters as well, very fishy with almost a dirty river taste. This is my third time here. The first being the best. And thats one of the biggest complaints you'll see in the reviews is the consistency. One day you may get an amazing meal, one day maybe not. If theres one cuisine I'm not looking to gamble with, its seafood.
The bathrooms were scary. Pretty dirty. No soap, no towels to dry your hands. Which means you have a ton of dirty, greasy, buttery hands all throughout the restaurant. Hate to be negative, it's just kind of gross.
Lastly, the seating. Definitely sit in a chair. The booth seating is old and falling apart inside. Which honestly I wouldn't usually care about. The problem being you are sitting at a downward 20 degree angle. So after about 10 mins your lower back starts aching because of the strain. Switched booth seats, same thing. Ended up just grabbing a chair which wasn't that comfortable either. That may seem like a weird thing to complain about but two people, a bill close to $100 with drinks and tip, it's kind...
Read moreKing Cajun... where do I begin? When opening the door, I get slapped with the smell of the luscious, thick, juicy aroma of the fresh, seasoned seafood. How I'm greeted within the first ten seconds of entering the establishment warms my heart. Once seated, I get the pleasure of looking at the glorious menu packed with multiple options. One of the servers stops by and asks what beverage I want to indulge in. I always choose their sweet tea, and it arrives within 3 minutes. Once she delivered my sweet tea, she asked me what I wanted to eat. Honestly, it takes me a while to choose what I want from the menu because everything is a ten out of ten. I ordered crab legs, scallops, shrimp, sausage, and wings. Once I finally chose what I was going to devour, the gracious server informed the kitchen, and they got to work. Maybe 15 minutes later, the food arrived...
The polished aluminum pan was placed down in front of me. The scent smacked my face. My nostrils flared. My eyes watered. I tied my hair back. I rushed to put the bibb around my neck and the gloves on my hand. I took a sip of my drink for preparation. And then I dug in. Honestly, after this point, I don't remember much, just know the pan was licked clean, I had replaced my gloves twice, my face was a mess, and my pants were unbuckled. After I finished, I finally took a breath, a breath of hopefulness, aspiration, and longing. The server came back to check on me to see if I was good. I was more than good;...
