I have been supporting this establishment for almost 12 years when itās only restaurant was on silver star! Iāve religiously driven from Dr Phillips to that location, until the kirkman and Winter Garden location were established. I have built a rapport with many of the staff through the turn over and I have never been led to do a negative review until today. I placed my order in person and as I waited I watched the intern brag the marked box with my order. Twice before she incorrectly filled the order, I called to her attention and she ignored me in an obvious way. Her face filled with pure frustration and annoyance. On the third call of her attention she reluctantly responded to which I inquired and confirmed the details of my order to which she responded, it wasnāt my order. At this hour is busy, I have already stood waiting. As I waited to cashed out, here comes the incorrectly made plate. As the male unprofessional cashier grabs the order I told him, the order is wrong⦠he asked whatās wrong with it in the most dismissive and agitated manner! When called out on his attitude he hisses his teeth, shoves the order on the side and calls another adjacent customer to check out indicative that he is not addressing me or addressing my issue. It is with this experience of near 12 years of support of this establishment that I have made my decision that I will take my money where the bare minimum of respect is given. There is chipotle, McDonalds within arms reach of this restaurant⦠but there is also Golden Krust, Sunshine Bakery and many other Jamaican restaurants in less than a 15 minutes drive. The stigma of Jamaican customer service must be broken and the best way to stand on business is to stop supporting these establishments that hire persons who are disrespectful. In this economy when each choice to support a business is a economic thought because we have food at home, this is not a standard. So...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off the food is really delicious about the closest to authentic that I've tasted in the area, and the place and service workers are clean, a few of them keep an attitude but as we know Jamaicans are known to be rude but nevertheless they're still clean, which is probably why you came to look at the reviews.
But with that being said I've been coming to this place for almost 5 years now and they are so inconsistent it's annoying. I basically order the same meals for me and my kids every time, we get the fried chicken, a plate of oxtail, and occasionally a brown stew fish/chicken, stew peas or cowfoot. We also order the same sides every time, I guess that's our favorite. And every single time I come there its a different outcome. Some days you can get the fried chicken and it's so nice and crispy and edible and other times you can come is running in grease or so hard you can't chew it, even though the flavor is good it's very annoying. Like today, which prompt me to write this review, last weekend I came and purchased the oxtail, they were so tender and literally falling off the bone even the bone was chewable but it was not mushy it was very edible and very good so of course this weekend I'm craving for the same taste, but no, the oxtail is so tough I feel like I need to go home and cook it some more they were extremely crowded today than last time but that is still no excuse. Also most days when you come and buy a side of the macaroni and cheese which is an extra $2 they give you about a two bite size portion. Today the girl filled it up, I'm like oh they need to do that all the time. All in all I will still recommend them but just know that if you get a good meal this time it's liable not to be exactly the same...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI asked my son to pick up some lunch for me at the Negril on Kirkman Rd. The food quality was so terrible, the dumplings were brown and the ackee and salfish was mushy, also the ackee had so much msg that my mouth was numb as if I was eating Chinese food. When Negril just came to Kirkman Rd, the food quality was great, but now the food is more rushed, they are not putting much effort in the food anymore, the msg was so much that I had a headache. This is not how Jamaican food should be, we come to your restaurant to get a taste of Jamaica, not a taste of China with all this msg, we have flavor in our cooking, we donāt need to enhance the taste with all that msg. I didnāt take a picture of the fry chicken, but I did try to eat a piece of the chicken, but it was so old and greasy that I just couldnāt eat it. I wasnāt going to post anything about it, but when my son returned the food, my son said the girl in the front was complaining about she ate a piece of the chicken why she complaining, that is so unprofessional. NEGRIL you need to teach your people customer service, we spend over $50 on this order and we spend money there all the time, it wasnāt our fault why the food was such terrible quality. Also your employee need to keep her comments to herself. I didnāt come there begging for food. Iām spending my hard earn money with you. Take a look at the food for yourself. Would you eat this? Iām sure you wouldnāt serve this to your dog. Why serve this to a paying customer? If you look at the food and you wouldnāt eat it. Donāt serve it to a...
