Vino del Mare — Restaurant in Ormond Beach

Vino del Mare (formerly Frederick’s Wine Room) is a hidden gem by the sea. It just opened three weeks ago, but already feels like a well-loved neighborhood spot. My wife and I visited on Sunday, 9/14, and were impressed right away by the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The location is fantastic, and the patrons we met were just as warm and friendly as Adam, the proprietor.

Adam is genuine, passionate, and especially enthusiastic about all things Italian. He’s originally from New Jersey, and his hospitality shines through in the way he interacts with guests. You immediately feel at home. Adam’s network runs from celebrities and musicians to Sopranos actors and even Sinatra’s relatives and he’s a car enthusiast too. He always has a great story to share.

The wine selection is excellent with over 180 labels, both old world and new world. They also offer wines by the glass through a self-serve machine, which makes it easy to try different styles without committing to a full bottle.

Beyond the wines, the space itself is intimate and thoughtfully designed. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in, relax, and savor a bottle while chatting with friends or striking up conversations with fellow patrons like we did.

Vino del Mare is easily my new favorite wine bar! During my visit I tried a wine tasting, the charcuterie board, and the pistachio hummus dip. Everything was absolutely divine!

The customer service at Vino del Mare is unparalleled. Monica was so knowledgeable about popular wines from different regions. Monica spent time educating me about wine during the tasting, answering many questions I had, and even assisted me with selecting two red wines as a gift.

Vino del Mare brings an elevated and exclusive feel to the wine bar experience, all at a reasonable price. The other wine bars I’ve visited in Central Florida are either part of a chain or so overcrowded that you can’t simply relax with your wine and enjoy prompt and helpful customer service.
