Noble Hops is delicious and the service is above and beyond! Everything I get here is top notch.
My dad wanted to surprise my mom for her birthday with a whisky tasting at asked Noble Hops if this was something they could do. This is not a regular thing at the restaurant, they do beer flights, but he came in a couple weeks early and they jumped at the chance to provide a special experience. When we arrived not only had the Jason (general manager), Eric (bartender) and Rob (server) picked out four scotch whiskys but the head chef had prepared a couple tasting plates to go with them (we didn't know they were going to do that!) We got to try apple, pear, bacon jam, cranberry compote, blue cheese, another soft cheese, parma ham, salami and blackberries, and a chocolate brownie with basil with our whiskys and some of the whiskys truly changed with these certain foods and made them more enjoyable. We also got the crudo on Rob's (server) suggestion, which was ahi tuna with a truffle ponzu sauce and oranges and is normally on the menu. It was unbelievably good and I would order it the next time I come in. After the tasting we all got dinner too. We got the Southwest burger with fries (they are so crisp and crunchy), the Miss Saigon sandwich, and the meatball sub, all delicious. We ordered the brussel sprouts from the starters menu and YOU MUST GET THESE. They come with melted goat cheese and it is something you will want to lick the bowl when you are done, even my dad liked them and he is not a brussel sprouts fan. And we went home with a slice of carrot cake.
It was all delicious and the service was amazing. I cannot say enough good things about Rob's excitement to serve us and make this experience great. Raquel, the assistant manager made the evening ru smoothly, and the head chef came over to our table twice to explain the tasting dishes he created especially for us. It was a memorable experience and a birthday my mom will never forget.
Whiskys tried: Glenglassaugh, Glendronach 12, Benriach, Belvenie 15.
In my past visits to this place, the Jam Burger is a must get: it has bacon jam on it and is so flavorful you want...
Read moreDisaster Happy Hour on Saturday, October 23, 2021. We have had several great dinners here with great views…, however, their Happy Hour was a huge disappointment with slow service from the kitchen ( it was not the server’s fault). The Happy Hour food should not be served from frozen food out of the microwave. Some of the food we ordered off the Happy Hour menu appeared to be microwaved. We ordered the crispy chicken sliders and the beef sliders. They were both advertised as being served on a brioche bun, however the bun was freezer burned and appeared to have been microwaved. The bun was hard and stale as if it had just came out of a microwave. Both the chicken slider and the beef slider were served dry in the bun, nothing on it, and you could barely eat it without choking on it …it was that dry. We had to ask for a side of mayonnaise in order to try to eat the dry chicken nugget. The microwaved hard and stale bread was not edible. How difficult is it to find fresh bread in town, put some butter on the bun, and lay the bun on the griddle? This is what makes the restaurants on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives a destination: the chefs at these eateries take pride in every plate that leaves the kitchen! Bread in a restaurant should never be microwaved and then served to customers. The nachos were advertised as having some special beer cheese on them, but the cheese on the nachos tasted like it came out of a jar. We arrived at about 5:15 PM, and It took us about 45 minutes to receive our three happy hour appetizers, we were just a table of two, and we noticed other tables that got there before us didn’t receive their meals until at least an hour after we’d arrived. Only about half the outside tables were taken, so when I walked inside to look at what was going on in the kitchen, there were tons of people in the kitchen, and plates and plates of food lined up in the kitchen, but for some reason it was taking forever to get the plates out. The server was kind enough to take the sliders off of our bill, but my suggestion is to not treat the “Happy Hour” as the “Microwave Hour”. They definitely had an...
Read moreWent with a party of 6 for dinner and a drink. Zach was our server and seemed nice enough. He told us that the wine my wife was asking about was something unique to them and you could not purchase it in the store. She liked it and asked if we could purchase a bottle to go. He said yes and it was roughly $50.00. As we were getting ready to leave, he brought me the bottle all wrapped up in a bag tied closed. When we got home and opened the bag, the bottle he sent was a cheap bottle you can get at Walmart for $10.00. When my wife called the gal that answered the phone put her on hold and went to talk to Zach. She came back and said yes, he made a mistake and knew he gave us the wrong wine. She said the manager had left but she would have him give us a call. He called the next day and claimed Zach told us it was not the wine we had asked for when he handed me the sealed bag. (Because everyone wants a mystery bottle of wine) My wife said that's ridiculous and asked for him to refund the difference between the 2 wines or even just give us a credit for next time we come in. The manager replied No, sorry there's nothing I can do for you...
I've been a business owner for years and can't imagine being so dishonest to one of my customers. It's not the money but the level of dishonesty. I even based my tip on the dinner amount with the $50.00 bottle of wine. Between the 6 of us we spent plenty and even after admitting they did us wrong, they said they weren't willing to do anything to make it right. I would have expected more from a small local business. We’ve gone here for years and will not return. If they’re so dishonest about this what else are they dishonest about when handling your...
