There have been 3 articles in the Tacoma News Tribune, I think someone at the Tribune had their palms greased. Maybe even greased from all the old grease dripping off the “Famous” fried chicken. We got to Tim’s Kitchen in Orting at 9:30AM, there was 1 group of 2 in front of us. We were put on a wait list. We stood on the sidewalk outside the door for over an hour. When we finally got in we waited for someone to clean a table, then we were seated. We waited and waited for someone to bring coffee, no one is coming with drinks or to take our order. Finally, I got up went and found someone in charge and asked for someone, anyone, to take our order. Finally at 10:52AM someone took our order. I could maybe understand waiting if they had been busy, but they weren’t that busy. I had coffee, my wife had water. I ordered 3 piece fried chicken (because it’s now lunch time), my wife ordered biscuits and gravy. The chicken was awful, dripping in old tasting grease with no real batter that I could find. It was dry and gross. The mashed potatoes had a couple tablespoons of gravy. Both the potatoes and gravy were pathetic. The green beans were cold, like they just opened the can they came out of and threw them in a small bowl. This disaster cost me $15.99. My wife’s meal was a run of the mill biscuits and gravy and certainly not worth wasting an entire morning for. After complaining about the wait and the poor quality of the food. They graciously took the coffee off our order. When we walked out the front door it was 11:50AM. We were tortured in Tim’s Kitchen for 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Summary: seated quick, good menu, Great customer service, great value, loved the train themed decorations. by the way it takes the train a minute and 17 seconds to make a full loop, just decoration. I looked up breakfast places on Google maps and saw Tim's kitchen. The restaurant was easily found and I was able to park out front. I walked in and was greeted right away and seated within a few minutes. The restaurant was about half full when I arrived. My server Gage came over within a few minutes, greeted me with a glass of water, a menu and asked if I needed anything else or if I needed more time. They have a very good breakfast menu. I chose The Caboose. I moved the menu to the side of the table indicating that I was ready to order. Gage noticed the menu placement and that my attention was on the TV and came over to take my order. Gage seems to be really good at reading the customer's clues. I ordered and within 10 minutes my food was ready. Gage brought condiments and my food and asked if I need anything else. I finished my meal and I stacked my plates at the edge of the table and the hostes walked by, asked how my food was and took the plates. I also asked her for a refill and she returned with the refill quickly. Gage brought the check by without me asking and told me no rush. I looked at the bill and was happy with the cost versus amount of food and service. The check came with a survey which I happily completed. Gage came by quickly got my payment and gave me my receipt.

MILITARY SERVICEMEMBERS AND PEOPLE OF COLOR BEWARE! DISORGANIZED KITCHEN AND TOXIC ENVIRONMENT. We waited 45 minutes after ordering to follow up on the status. I walked back to kitchen to inquire with our server, Catherine (sweet lady by the way). You could hear Tim, the owner, yelling at her and the other servers while he can see me talking to Catherine. Catherine later gave me an update at my table. SHE WAS IN TEARS when explaining “I have no control over when your food will come out. Tim, the owner, is cooking back there and he’s not being very nice right now.” I waited a while longer and inquired again. Stephanie, the lead server, offered her assistance in a polite, apologetic manner. Tim made himself unavailable to me and wouldn’t make eye contact. He shrugged to Stephanie while acknowledging that he received our ticket order an hour ago and that it wasn’t even started. Six other tables sat down after us, got their food, and even packed to-go boxes during our time there. We walked out of course. Not a good look when our table was Asian-Pacific Islander and those tables (including two large groups) were all Caucasian. We’ve been patrons of Tim’s Kitchen since our military move here two years ago. Our kids loved the toy train and their food/service WAS good. I’m super disappointed that I have to write this review but can no longer support this establishment. I pray for the servers and hope the owner can consider being a better human being to his team in the future.

Had an absolutely horrible experience with my family at Tim's tonight. I have never felt the need to write a review on a restaurant in my life but this needs to be addressed. The night started by waiting 5 minutes at the host station without being greeted, mind you we were the only ones there waiting. After finally being seated, it took a good 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive, it was a very slow night and the staff were all sitting around by the salad bar ignoring their tables. Be advised my entire family has worked in the restaurant industry. We didn't want to take any longer so we went ahead and placed our orders. After 1 hour and 10 minutes exactly we finally Said something to management and she responded aggressively and rudely by saying it was only put in 45 minutes ago (like we have control of that). Meanwhile, other customers at the restaurant are so fed up with the lousy service that they are literally grabbing their food from the window and serving themselves. You would think they could at least be bothered to bring our toddler and child their kid food items while they are starving, luckily we had other snacks in our bags for them. We got their at 6:36 and finally received our food at 7:45pm, this is 15 minutes before they close. At this point they are shutting off lights and acting like they were ready to leave. When the food finally arrived I was brought the wrong steak. I ordered the 10oz new York and was given the 6oz sirloin. At this point it wasn't worth even trying to fix it so I accepted it and ate it. My wife was charged for bacon in her wrap and there was no bacon. The list goes on and on for service errors. We sucked it up and ate everything anyways. The food was edible to say the least. It tasted like it had been sitting in the window for hours somehow. This could have all been avoided if the server or manager was at all apologetic. They did not care about us as customers at all. We paid for the full bill. Including food we did not get and still tipped exceptionally well. I hope this reaches the right people and something is done. None the less, we have been Orting citizens for many years and visited Tims on many occasions and we will never...

Came here for dinner last night and was unfortunately disappointed. I came here once before and the food was great! Mac and cheese was delicious, and the fried chicken sandwich was very good. Ordered the same thing last night and it was totally different. The chicken was super dry, bland, and honestly it tasted like it was old. I have spent years working in multiple kitchens, and I’m very passionate about cooking and I cook almost every day at home. I can tell when food is old. Our waitress was nice, I still tipped over 20%, but the experience was not ideal. I took a couple bites and put the food to the side. When our waitress asked how it was I told her, and it almost felt like she was trying to convince me otherwise. “Well you know this sandwich only comes with slaw and Mayo right?” To which I explained that I’ve had this before, and the problem wasn’t the toppings. She was still trying to push the conversation and said she was sorry their food didn’t meet my standards, which felt a little insincere. I didn’t want to tell her that it tasted old but eventually I had to because I felt like I shouldn’t have to continue going back and forth explaining myself. I’m not one to complain, I feel bad doing it but I know it can help the restaurant do better and I’d rather let them know and give them an opportunity to fix it, than not say anything then write a bad review. I’m only writing this review because they didn’t take the opportunity to fix it. They said $5 off is the best they could do and she doesn’t know what happens cause she doesn’t work the kitchen. If a customer respectfully complains about the food, and they didn’t even eat more than two bites, the right thing to do is to offer to remake it, a different menu option, or take it off the tab. For this reason, I won’t be back. $70 to go home hungry isn’t worth it in...

We wanted to come to Orting, hang out on the river and get some food. Came in on a Tuesday about 3:30 for a couple burgers, tater tots and soft drinks. Burger and tots are $16.99 and a soda is $3.99 with refills. About 5 minutes after we ordered, an older couple came in and ordered their food. They were seated a couple tables away from us. They received their first item which looked like deep fried green beans, a few minutes later I looked up at the kitchen counter and saw what I thought was our 2 burgers in their baskets sitting there alone. I excitedly said to my son, “there’s our food”. After a few minutes, some other meals were next to the burgers and the waiter grabbed the other food and brought it to the couple who arrived 5 minutes after we ordered our burgers and tots. More food was placed next to the 2 burgers and the waiter grabbed the other food and brought the entrées to the older couple. Their table was full of food and the burgers were still sitting under the heat lamp on the kitchen counter. The waiter went to the table next to us and served them something and refilled their drinks. He stood at a counter near the kitchen for probably a minute looking down, doing something and turned around and grabbed the burgers and brought them to our table. I’d say that our simple burgers and tots order sat on the counter for about 8 minutes while he took care of 2 other tables. I felt forgotten and put aside by the service and I ordered the burger medium rare and it was quite well done. The patties were bland the pre-frozen type. I would NOT recommend Tim’s Kitchen in Orting to anyone. Our experience there was a thumbs down disappointment. I will not...
