Peabodys Ale House — Restaurant in Oshkosh

IF I COULD GIVE IT NO STARS I WOULD—-All the bartender cared about was getting her next drink. She wasn’t bad at first but, The whole time we were there I had one drink while she had (from what I counted) four shots! She ended up trying to pull a fast one on me by charging me for higher priced liquor. I Caught her in the act, I said I’d pay for the two drinks me and my man had but that’s not what we asked for and I don’t want my next drink unless she pours what I’m asking for. (She then ended up lying about pricing when it came to energy drinks as well) She started to scream at me across the bar for no reason other than me telling her I never asked for high end stuff and I’d like my drink how I requested it. Two guys came up claiming to be bouncers when they were some of the guys she was getting her multiple shots from. (If they were bouncers they shouldn’t be hanging at the bar going shot for shot like it’s water….)When my man came to see what was going on , the one grabbed him and pushed him onto the cement outside. He didn’t even have a chance to say “hey, what’s going on?”. He was beaten out of the blue. He has scratches, a black eye, and then ended up in the er with a sprained neck. I hate to say it but, based on other reviews I’m glad he was there. Who knows what those two guys would/ could have done to me if I was alone!! Talked with authorities and will be pressing charges as well as lawyering up. Only been here one other time before. I never liked it but figured to try it out again since it seemed to be a more quiet place to shoot a couple rounds of darts. Guess I was wrong. Thankfully, nothing worse happened! From what I can tell, if the bartender thinks she can work like that, talk to customers like that, and have no care about it. then, in my (and what seems to be many others opinion) the owner and managers must not be too far off from the same thing. Sunday nights at Peabody’s is “the place to be in the Fox Valley” thanks to the Jazz Orgy!!!! This live music event is one of the jems in the Fox Vally’s crown for sure! The staff is attentive, competent, quick, and sharp whited. The atmosphere is comfortably worn in like one of your favorite jackets. The building has had some upgrades/additions over the years (like the outside bar and patio area) so it is an eclectic blend of tradition and neo hip. You can catch “cool cats” wearing the throwback styles of “yester year” and see “Hip-hopsters” wearing the latest “Paux-fashion”, as well as peep the occasional tweeded out fat cordaroy wearing professor bee bopping to the singers scat-attack, and tapping a foot to the freestyle chops of the drummer’s solo. Summer 2019 Original Review: Absolutely horrendous place to live by. They have started doing something with music and speakers and thanks to this, me and my family cannot get a wink of sleep. After studying for my final for four hours the night before then getting roughly 5 hours of sleep, I truly need my rest and I cannot get it thanks to this bar.
