Bri and I went to the varsity club this past Sunday around 2pm for the first time. We got to our table, waited a few minutes and ordered a drink. The waitress asked for our ID's, she looked at them thoroughly and handed them back. A few minutes later, she came back and asked for our ID's again. We gave them to her, she handed mine back and kept Bris. She didn't tell us anything, 5 minutes later we got up to go find her. She was in the bar next door showing someone. When i asked her what was going on, she wouldn't look at us at all, and continued walking saying you will have to call the police to get your ID back, because the photo looks FAKE. I proceeded to ask her, It is not Bri. She said yes it is, but looks fake. She is one rude person. I called the police, waited outside for 30 minutes. They arrived, explained the situation. They came back with the ID and apologized. She was so rude and I will spread the word for her mistake that should have not happened. She handled this situation so POORLY without any communication with us, and expected us to know what was going on. Id love to know who this...
Read moreHave always loved the varsity club. Great food, great cooks, a few really great bartenders. I did like it more when the staff seemed to be having more fun and enjoying their jobs. I'm not sure what's changed that makes them seem that way. But I can remember a time when the bartenders were all smiles. The last few times (save the few bartenders I know) its not seemed so happy go lucky. Also it should be marked that if you order all u can eat wings, order only as many as you can eat, they don't let you take What's left over. Normally this would be no problem, but when we werent told about it until after we ordered and received four meals for two people(planning to have the rest for our dinner later,as the kids were gone and we had the night off )we were a lil concerned that we had just paid for all that food and would have to leave half behind. We made due in our own way , but just as a heads up. Over all varsity is great and we still love...
Read moreLet’s first say that this use to be a happy place. It used to have a prestigious vibe that garnished respect with simply its name. That’s probably due to the 15 years of effort from Jeremy the previous owner or the owner before him because Adam the new owners just absolutely whack. He actually had my Tax information posted publicly on a tag board in eyesight for months. Look at the condition of the tables, the change in vibe, and the energy of the staff. It’s all dying. The work of generations before him. It’s simply proof that happiness can’t be bought, you can’t buy loyalty, and if Adam reads this he should remember that his money may have value but his influence and business sense just aren’t there. Stick to what your good at. Which I guess is ruining good bars with decent...
