Rough experience.
I understand staff being short handed but there were many empty tables today and our server barely would check up on us. When you have a table with 5 kids and 2 adults, you have to check in more. Not only was she not checking in but she was not anywhere in site.
One of my items that I ordered never showed up and drinks were empty. The next time I saw the server, she brought the bill. The item I never received was on the bill so rather than giving me a choice, she just panicked and ran away to put the order in. I probably wouldn’t have even gotten it at this point but I was not given a option to just have the item removed from the bill. As we waited with 7 people to see the server again, she never came back until she returned with the food so I had no chance to simply have the item removed. Now everyone was done eating accept for that one item that 6 people were waiting on one person to eat. Well…it was freezing cold in the middle to put icing on the cake.
Another 10-20 minutes went by and again we didn’t see the server.
Finally I walked up to the bar and explained the situation and the bartender gave me the impression she was the manager.
I honestly think it was just a friend of the server trying to bail her friend out.
The bartender said she would just take the food off my bill and I gave her my credit card to pay. At this point the kids were more than ready to get the heck out of there.
Now I get my receipt to sign and I noticed the bill was still the same 140.00 bill plus some change as I was given before the food was suppose to be taken off.
I’ve never been one to reflect my frustration in my tip but this one absolutely had more to do with the server than the kitchen staff. I easily would have tipped 30-50.00 on this one if the service was halfway decent and there was money that was supposed to be removed from the bill so I figured the tip could be taken out of that at this point.
We left and will not return.
We were going to plan a large group to go there next month and we will not be doing that now. I’ve already reserved a section at Buffalo Wild Wings.
We are not a needy family and we eat out regularly as we travel. This place is really really bad. All we needed was somebody to at least pay attention to empty drinks and we would have been fine asking for help when drinks were being replenished.
We basically were left alone and then handed a bill. Lots of wasted time waiting made this...
Read moreWe had burgers and wings...and, both were pretty darn good. The fries had a salt/pepper shake which was a great combo! Wasn't heavy one way or another. The burgers are touted as large, tho in all actual accounts, 4 Oz, double or not, is still not BIG. But, they had a decent flavor that is above say an Applebee's or Chili's. It's like something closer to a bar burger, tho without fresh and hand pattied, or that SPECIAL ingredient that some places who hold their burgers high in standard, will add to make them different from others. Again, great flavor and a good burger that can be counted on to ENJOY. 3.5 STAR on my BURGEROLOGY restaurant standard of 5 stars. The wings were PRETTY GOOD. I wasn't blown away by them but they seemed of great size and Tru to the flavor as advertised. Better than a REGULAR wing spot, but not that SPECIAL wing that I think a wing PLACE, should have. Def in parallel with a Buffalo Wild Wings and I'd say a solid wing experience worthy of a consistent and good return. The cheese crumbles for the burger and wings were good and great flavor. So, hats off to them on one of my FAVES. Atmosphere, besides the girl claiming to be highly intelligent and constantly claiming that she didn't usually talk about others, WAS RUNNING EVERYONE AND HER FATHER (literally), down to some company. That woman dropped F-bombs more than a LIT of my retired mil friends...AND THAT says something. Yes, it was annoying in a slow Atmosphere where they sat RIGHT next to us with the whole place open, but, not a fault of the business. Being not too busy, the staff warn R around enough to hear it, or I had felt at are asking to be retailed elsewhere. Cursing isn't a huge deal to me, thus was simply ABSURDLY loud, and excessive with oversharing at its finest for Southern Michigan. I would have understood better in Battle Creek, but we were on 9th St. She did consistently allude to being staff at Western Michigan University, so that does make it more understood. They are the Southside of Universities. Staff swapped the channel over to a requested game and aside from some slow refills, super pleasant and professional. I've been to that location a few times and ALWAYS are the folks there pretty upbeat and accommodating. I'd say two thumbs up and worth the visit. Prices and amounts are pretty average, figure $15 per person for a burger plate. I'll be...
Read moreAverage at best. Not always family friendly. I've been here a few times simply because it's a convenient location and I want to give it more than one opportunity to provide me with a quality experience. I've never really had that experience here. We've gone weekdays, weekends, and tried to vary the times to see if the experience varies, and it does somewhat, but not drastically. The food is OK. There is a good selection, but none of them have been all that good. Probably the best thing I've found is a french dip. It's really hard to screw up something that has about 2 or 3 ingredients, not counting the bun. The wings are nothing special and always seem to be extra fatty or really small, never in the middle. The sauces are nothing special. The atmosphere is really confusing. They can't figure out if they are trying to be a family place, sports bar, or just plain bar, and as a result, they pretty much fail at all of them. I've gone in there with my daughters each time and all but maybe a couple of times, there was at least one group of people being loud, obnoxious, and with foul language. None of the staff did anything to stop them and you could see the families with kids were not happy about it. We actually just cancelled our order and walked out once, and another group that had come in decided to follow us out.
I guess if you're going out looking for a place to drink with good bar type food, it's OK. I'm not into that and as a family place, it fails miserably. Service has always been pretty good though so that's kind of sad. The wait staff has always been really on the ball with stuff, and service is fast. It's just too bad they don't really care...
