Empire Wok — Restaurant in Otsego Township

We arrived and and most hot plates were completely empty so there weren't many choices for our group of 14. A lot of the food looked like it had been sitting there all day and wasn't very appetizing. After we finished our meal, the manager informed us that they wouldn't be able to take any credit cards because their phone lines were down. I was very frustrated because I work in the restaurant industry and understand how unacceptable and unprofessional this was. If you are having problems with reading cards, you need to tell a group of 14 college-aged kids prior because only a few of us carried cash. We were running late to our movie, so this was very frustrating. The manager gave us two options: he could write down our CC info or we could barrow from a friend. Knowing each option wasn't reliable or a feasible option, 4 people from our group quickly ran over to the nearby Walmart to get cash back in time for us to make it to our movie. We decided to go here instead of our usual place Ten Ten in Kalamazoo, not will not happen again. We ordered Carb Rangoons, very little filling and no crab meat to be seen delivered on a paper plate. Our drinks were in plastic throw away cups. we ordered Honey Chicken and Seafood Delight something. The honey Chicken was over cooked, the Seafood Delight was good. Now all of our food came in plastic to do containers the rice came in the usual to do container. We asked for silverware and they brought us plastic forks. We asked for salt and pepper and she brought us packets. This place is not for dinning in only take out. We will drive the extra miles next time. OMG! Take this from someone who was unsure where to get good Chinese - this place was SO good. Customer service was awesome, the lady who gave us our takeout was friendly and sweet. Portions are very generous - my boyfriend and I ordered vegetable fried rice and there were nice chunks of onion, broccoli, peas, sugar snap peas, and carrots. Our takeout was given to us in sealable plastic containers - not styrofoam (which makes putting away very easy). I saw some reviews saying they were disappointed in no buffet, but my boyfriend and I actually loved that all the food was MADE TO ORDER!!
