Not sure which Meijer (or other retailer) I'm currently reviewing. If you need a review of this you likely are new to America. Welcome! Meijer is a large chain store that sells many fruits, vegtebles, meats, assorted useless junk, clothing, children's toys, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages(including many varieties of purified, adulterated and unaltered water from various sources for humans who lack access to drinkable water, are paranoid about the inclusion of questionable chemicals in local water supplies, or those who merely enjoy wasting currency and carbon on products that are available more cheaply locally sourced, but feel that water sourced from Fiji is superior), dairy products, assorted chemically laced grain products for human consumption with dairy products, prepackaged tea leaves, coffee beans, as well as matcha, and assorted other pre-made canned and bottled stimulant beverages which usually contain large quantities of sugar, caffeine, and B vitamins. The sugar in these canned and bottled beverages often consists of high fructose corn syrup, which, while not good for your liver, is tasty. There are also many baking products available here, such as baking soda, yeast, cane sugar, plant based and synthetic non-sugar sweeteners, flour, bullion, sweet and dark chocolate, gluten free baking supplies, pre-made pie crusts in a disposable, bakable aluminum housing that peels off, oatmeal (generally a safer choice than the aforementioned chemically laced grain products, but is sometimes still adulterated with non-bioavabile nutrients), spices, and ethanolic plant extracts (usually very concentrated in both ethanol and the extracted flavor compunds, McCormick is a well known brand, but generics are of comparable quality). This retailer also sells cooking appliances, other electronics, furniture, and entertainment media in disc, bound paper, redeemable code and virtual currency formats. This retailer also sells numerous tools, as well as assorted gardening/property management equipment, as well as a small selection of automotive parts. Also available are assorted human powered transportation/recreation devices with a few electronic exceptions. Hunting and fishing supplies and equipment are available, but local as well as state and federal laws do apply, and you should consult with a trusted naturalized citizen, official, or the internet in the opposite order of preference as I just listed, before engaging in these activities. Meijer facilities sometimes contain other commercial entities which can range from financial institutions to restaraunts. There are similar chain stores known as Walmart located in this country as well as a chain retailer known as Target which contains a higher proportion of clothes, assorted useless junk, and children's toys. In addition, you should preferentially consider smaller, local retailers if available in your current location, before exchanging currency at these chain Retailers. I will copy this review to other comparable stores. Enjoy the United States....
Read moreI just had a very bad experience during checkout this afternoon with my cashier Paula (W.) She was rude and I felt discriminated against by her very direct questioning. After a few minutes of her berating questioning I finally had to tell her she was being unprofessional and rude. She stated she was simply 'making conversation and she was not being offensive and I shouldnt be so easily offended'. I said I disagreed and if she had an issue with my appearance she could have another cashier finish checking me out. She said no. She then continued to make passive aggressive comments to the point I was very upset and told her that although I cannot tell her what type of person to be outside of work, she should not be so unprofessional considering she was on the clock to which she again dismissed. The nice girl who was the bagger just kept her eyes down during the whole checkout as im sure she was embarrassed. As I was putting on my coat to walk out the doors a customer walking in stopped and asked if I was OK two times. I just wanted to leave the store I was so upset. Im not sure if I will return to this meijer location but if I do and Paula is the only cashier I will leave my cart and walk out. I will NEVER deal with that discrimination and berating again over something I cannot change. As a company, be prepared for a discrimination lawsuit in the future if you keep her on...
Read moreI had a bad experience this time but I don't want to rate it on this visit only to be fair. I had a gift card a Meijer gift card and I couldn't get it accepted. I had to go and sent to customer service to check out. This took a while and was getting upset. I had hot and cold food that I could have replaced I just didn't want to waste more time and have the food be wasted. I had the same problem with the card at the gas station. I was trying to spend it all so I would have to go through it again instead I have the card with 7$ and some change left and was warned I would still have the issue when using the card. I usually have a good experience with Meijer and I wish they had more lanes open with people at cashier lanes. I don't remember the price going down and I would like to have it done I get out of work and have to do it myself is work to me. I like customer service not having to go to the customer service for checking out and waiting in line. Sorry I really wish my...
