Main Street Donuts — Restaurant in Ottumwa

The store was clean the staff was really helpful and even the other patrons were very friendly. As far as the food, oh my goodness and this is not putting it lightly. The only single issue perhaps maybe selecting from the Smorgasbord of Celestial Sweetness. I am one of the most finicky eaters you could ever meet. To me if something is NOT visually appetizing, given the care it should with seasonings or preparation or if the owner and staff have a bad attitude and make you feel unwelcome that immediately causes me to lose my appetite every time. These Sinful Sunday Morning Morsels have been cared for and nurtured throughout their infancy. When it came to the taste test it was a complete match, absolutely Scrumdiddlyumptious. Main Street Cafe so far, is the one place I have found not falling short in three or more areas. I only have one request. Possibly having at least one coffee choice to be more on The Bold side such as Somatra, Verona or French roast. However they hit the nail on the head everywhere else so most likely they know their customer base and their customer enjoy Main Street Cafe just as it is....

I won't be back, at least no time soon, after today. I went in to get something on my way to a meeting and the employee was taking photos of the guests, which was fine, I waited. As she was doing that, a man got up from another table and went to the counter. The employee then proceeded to wait on him. She did not even acknowledge me, or ask who was next, although it should have been obvious that I had just come in (the bells on the door rang and I'm standing there in my coat). No one else was in line. I walked out without ordering. The owner is a very nice lady, I had just had a conversation with her the other day. But this employee definitely needs some customer...

Went in to get breakfast sandwiches and coffee and the employees are nice and helpful but, the Owner lady is very MEAN and RUDE. She always being rude with her employees in front of customers and you can tell it make the employees uncomfortable. I’ve been there in many occasions but this one time I wanted a certain coffee but it was needing a refill so I asked the owner lady if there was anymore and she rudely said “No but there is other coffee flavors just pick one of those and water it down it’s the same thing” I honestly thought it was a joke at first but of course I was wrong and she walked away. Moral of the story me and my family will be taking our business some...
