First I will start by telling my recent experience that caused me to finally sit down and review this place.

I am about 15 minutes away so it is perfect for me to use the app to order and when I get there 9/10 times it is ready within 1 minute or so. This was not the case this time. I get there and the pickup shelf was empty and I noticed either a staff rotation or some friends of the staff were leaving or some friendly customers talking to the staff were leaving. In any case I thought they were just finishing up my order. I got distracted and waited about 10 minutes in the shop until I finally asked where my order was. I was told it was already made, turns out someone either someone stole my order off the shelf or picked up mine by mistake. So I had to wait a total of 30 minutes for my order to be remade. So the entire point of why I order on the app and pick it up got completely negated.

In any case I get my order and take it home and the food was better than usual. I got a cappastrami and the Meatball. (I think I am going to remove the Meatball on my good list for the time being. I can't tell if it was too much cheese compared to the sauce and meatballs but it seemed to cover the entire flavor of the sub. It could have even been the seasoning of the meatballs was lacking and didn't provide the flavor I was expecting.) For the first time in a very long time the bread didn't feel like it was stale. The past dozen or so times I have ordered a sandwich the bread has always been stale so it tastes strange and is very stiff so the sandwich gets hard to eat. On a positive note there was a nice amount of toppings and a good blend of toppings on the capastrami. Normally when I would order something like the Chipotle chicken crunch. The sandwich is 90% veggies and 10% everything else. Yuck. But this time it was the way I like it 70% meat 30% veggies. So the sandwiches themselves overall were ok.

As far as other things about this place. The app is pretty good, a bit glitchy but it works. The only gripe is that I cannot add more than 1 coupon at a time.

Entrance and exits exist but due to my location I have to exit on 119th street to go left and that has caused lots of backup and angry drivers when people need to turn that direction as well.

I did also notice this time that half of the soda machine was out of order. Hope that is just a inventory problem of not having enough syrups for the sodas in stock and not the machine.

Concusion: I have been to this place off and on ever since its opened. It was awesome when it first opened and its in a deep rut now. Hopefully it improves. But for now 3 stars...

First off, I want to share that the meal we ended up eating was great, but boy, was it a journey to get there.

My wife and I recently visited here for the first time, and they had three large pans on the counter with frozen raw turkeys in them for, I assume, next day prep as it was about an hour until close. The problem being that three people were working on prep of sandwiches on the counter AND prepping the turkeys. We were a carry out order, so I got to watch as they touched the turkeys, the pans, and our sandwiches, but never changed gloves. When they went to give us our order, the guy seemingly in charge tried to argue that our sandwiches were fine and that they, the turkeys, hadn't touched the counter and that he hadn't touched them at all. This was bold face lying as I'd watch him specifically hook a pan with his hand and move it out of the way so he had more room to work on finishing the sandwich.

They did end up remaking the sandwiches while I watched them sanitize the counter and change gloves. He then asked if I still wanted the soup in the bag they had pulled the sandwiches from. I had to remind him that everything from the sandwich to wrapper was contaminated so of course it contaminated the container and the bag.

Overall, good food, but the sanitation practices and the attitude from this gentleman was VERY questionable. If I go back, I will be making sure to keep a close eye, and ask that they change gloves as this appears to be a significant gap in the staff's training on food handling.

I will update my review if/when I see improvement in how...

I have waited YEARS for a Capriotti's location to open here. There are only 112 of these shops and finally we have one too. This was my favorite place to eat back home on the East Coast and I'm very happy that this doesn't have to be a once every few years experience anymore. To my friends in the Midwest, I've told you for years that there are no good cheesesteaks here. Well now there is, and you've got to try it. The restaurant itself was very reminiscent of the shops back home. It's exactly how I remember it to be. The food is of course just as good as I remember as well. The employees are still learning the system, today was opening day after all so I did not mind the process at all, it will only improve with time. All in all, this place would've had my regular business regardless, but I'm happy to say that they are finally up and running and ready to introduce the Midwest to the Bobbie. Thank you for finally opening up out here and I can't wait to introduce my friends to what a real...

Ordered 2 cheesesteaks for $52.38. This is one of our favorite places. They arrived with burnt meat, we could smell it before we opened it. It was not edible. I called to complain, guy sounded like he did not believe me, said he did not need to see pictures....said, you have two large cheesesteaks on the house for when you want to come back. Called today and was advised that "sorry, you waited too long".....what???? My credit expired?? You lost a customer, if your word is not good, either is your business. Awful way to treat a long term customer who has spent hundred's of dollars there. I love their food but won't get any more of my money and I will be sure my friends won't either. Being from Philly and actually managing a cheesesteak shop, it will be hard to stay away but I would rather do without then deal with a poorly managed shop. Shame on you Capriotti's!

There was no line and no wait when I arrived close to 11am. The prices did catch me off guard and I was thinking it would be a one and done experience. After trying The Hot Bobbie (10"), I'm a fan for now. I will be back to try others. To note...there is limited seating and I noticed most orders were to go. The drink machine was needing service and the staff was focused behind the counter and not on other tasks out front. With a little attention it would be more inviting. It won't be a go to spot on a regular basis, but I'll be back. Give it a try!

I was very much not impressed. First of all, the five sandwiches for my family took about 25 minutes to make. And though we sat down to dine in, we were given all sandwiches in one crowded bag. The chipotle chicken sandwich was chewy and clearly not fresh at all. And the massively diced onions didn't do the imitation meat sandwich any favors. Overall, I certainly won't be back, but glad I tried it.
