📍 Dewey’s Pizza - Overland Park, KS (3615 W 95th St) @deweyspizza 🍕 for lunch hit the spot! Loved trying out some new things. Their pizza is super flavorful, while not being too heavy or greasy, which I LOVE! The salad was super refreshing to start off the meal and you HAVE to try a calzone! What we got: 🍕 1/2 Don Corleone & 1/2 Dr. Dre 🥖 Calzone: Pepperoni, bacon, sausage 🥗 Candied Walnut & Grape I love that you can split the pizzas into two specialty flavors. The inside is nice with great seating and outdoor patio is available for those nice days ☀️ Check out their wine menu or grab a local beer while you’re at it, cheers 🍻 #kctoday #kc #kansascityrestaurants #kansascityfoodie #kansascityfood #kansascity #kansas #missouri #kclocal #kclocaleats #kclocalbusiness #kceats #kcfoodie #kcfood #yum #yumyum #yummy #fyp #fypシ #fypage #kansascityhummingbirds #pizza #pizzalover #pizzapizza #overlandpark #overlandparkkansas #overlandparkfood

Dewey’s has probably my favorite pizza in town in the Don Corleone. It has: RED SAUCE, MOZZARELLA, PEPPERONI, GENOA SALAMI, CAPICOLA HAM, OREGANO It is customizable if you want, as I assume all their pizzas are, but I like it classic. I’ve had it in the restaurant and to go without issue. Service has always been excellent and they were extremely efficient during the quarantine when they opened back up. Their desserts come from a local baker, I believe, but are high quality as well. I can speak to the carrot cake as being amazing from personal experience. Just a heads up, you won’t find many side options, if any, outside of salad, but I don’t think they’re necessary because the pizza is that good. I highly recommend.

Pros: 1) Excellent pizza crust 2) Good topping variety 3) Pizza is not super oily 4) Friendly staff 5) Clean location 6) Wife says “Pre-sliced olives taste worse than whole pitted. However, the sliced olives here taste and look like they slice them themselves” Cons: 1) Besides the crust, pizzas aren’t addictingly flavorful (maybe because of them not being so oily) 2) Porky Fig pizza was not our cup of tea ( (sweet flavor from the fig jam just wasn’t working) 3) Slightly cold due to AC (and were fairly resistant to cold) 4) The whole roasted garlic had some pretty egregious cases of stems left on (see pic)

First off...the service. Our party was greeted with courtesy and a smile right when we walked in. We were seated quickly and everything we needed was given. I know this sounds like a hotel review but honestly there are some hotel lobbies that could take a cue from Dewey's. Our waiter was attentive and kind, offering help with the menu and bringing drinks when we needed them, always with a smile. Everyone else was getting the same solid service and that was great to see. The whole staff was very helpful with my 14-month-old son, offering and bringing a high-chair, offering and bringing him his own little cheese pizza (which he loved) and downplaying the fact that this little maniac was quite a handful the whole meal, at times just outright screaming. As a new dad it makes me feel so much more comfortable at a restaurant when the staff is helpful and understanding of my young family and of course we'll be back. My mom is in KC, we're in Topeka, so when we come visit Grandma it's probably gonna be time for Dewey's. Now, the pizza... Oh man! This is the pizza experience you want. Every bite, and I mean every bite, was thought out. Perfect thin crust, perfect mix of and distribution of toppings, perfectly baked...I mean, this pie is good! We had a Bleu Ribbon (which should become a menu staple, not just a limited time) and the Porky Fig. The ingredients are subtle and delicious, perfect adult pizza. The salads were so fresh and complimented the pie perfectly, and the ladies loved their wine and beer. This place has fantastic pizza. Honestly I don't really know why I'm taking three paragraphs to write a review for a pizza place an hour away from where I live that I've only been to once. I suppose it has to do with the fact that I was genuinely surprised with the experience and very pleased. Dewey's is a restaurant that is getting the service and quality of restaurant dining post-lockdown down, and they're doing it well. This restaurant should be a model to others for how to reopen and reopen in style....

It's hard to find fault with the pizza at Dewey's, it truly is fantastic. Their salads are equally amazing and the service is good as well. That's not why I felt Dewey's earned a two-star rating.

My beef is with their wine menu. Dewey's is a beer and wine only establishment -- that's totally fine. But whomever designed that menu did so with what appears to be complete and total disregard for customer preferences. For instance, if you don't drink craft beer, you're pretty much out of luck with extremely limited other beer options.

And if you drink wine, the team responsible for the menu offerings apparently think you're an idiot. Wine by the glass and by the bottle pricing is in line with fine dining restaurants in the area (I know, I frequent them). It's both laughably ridiculous and insulting.

For instance, we went to Dewey's last night for a birthday celebration. Two of us drink wine, one beer. The $56 bottle of Pinot Noir that I begrudgingly purchased cost half the price of feeding a family of five at Dewey's. Honestly, I still can't believe that I paid $56 for a bottle of moderately good Pinot Noir at a pizza joint. But I was entertaining, and it seemed like the right thing to do.

Even their staff is embarrassed by the pricing on the wine menu. They know how ridiculous it is, and they have the unenviable job of being on the front lines when customers express their disbelief and their frustration at the pricing.

When we want to dine out, which is often, we often consider Dewey's because we love their food and love their attention to customer service. But in most instances, knowing what we do about their wine menu and how that makes us feel as customers means that we go somewhere else. Dewey's...

Is it acceptable to lick a salad plate? Because that almost happened. My wife couldn’t stop with the salad. I can’t believe I’m just now finding out about this place. Amazing pizza! The toppings available are amazing and just about everything you’d want to add is available. The crust is perfect with just the right crack and just the right chew. The red sauce is sweet and you can tell it’s fresh. Honestly what impressed my wife and I the most is that every member of your staff was a part of helping serve your guests. That’s something you rarely see. It feels like that willingness to help whether it’s your job or someone else’s is something that doesn’t exist anymore. It speaks volumes about your organization that you have staff that is willing to work this way. The second thing that impressed us is how clean your entire restaurant happens to be. It literally looks like you just opened. I watched people cleaning the kitchen area as they were working and again, something you don’t see everyday. They weren’t just cleaning either, they were smiling as they were working. All around top notch place to grab pizza. Other establishments could really learn from what...
