The more I fall into the Thai food rabbit hole, the more I appreciate the variety of Thai food they have on the menu beyond the “essentials”. Boat noodles, Crispy Rice Salad, Hoi Jor, Khao Soi
the lot! And that does not already include the delicious Crispy Pork Belly Stir Fry, Pad Krapow, Pad Krapow Fried Rice, or Crispy Pork Belly Pad Krapow! 😋😋 Sean and Ploy are very friendly and a joy to see whenever I return. Please pay them a visit by coming here and appreciate the food and hospitality as I always do. Original Review: This is one of the very few Thai restaurants in KC that was bold to put more uncommon Thai dishes on the menu. Let me present you this: why go to steakhouse and just have A1 to go with it, when you can come here and have “Tiger Cry Ribeye” and have a good steak with a spicy, umami, and refreshingly tangy dipping sauce? Just look at it!!

Fast forward 3 years: As of Today June 21, 2025, still the best place to dine. If you're craving for a Thai cuisine, this is the place. I love the Pad Thai with Pork Belly, the best and ask for it because it's not on the menu. The crew were friendly and shout out to Sean, he's amazing and attention to detail on what you need. Year 2023: Food is awesome. If you happen to be near the Scheels Soccer Complex and hungry and love spicy, this the place where you wanna be. Great serving. The ambient is relaxing. If you're looking for a Thai Cuisine, it's 3 to 5 minutes drive from I-69 exit 135th then head to 135th West or from I-35 exit Sta Fe/135th St headway to 135th East. If there's a Taco Tuesday, then this is my Thairsday Thai

We went for lunch and it was our first time eating here. The hostess was quick to seat us and the atmosphere was clean inviting. Lunch specials start at $12:95 with add on up charges for some substitutions of proteins. We ordered the Pad Thai, and Basil Fried rice. We opted for pork versions of both. The fried rice was great and aromatic. The pieces of pork seemed over sized and could be smaller to better facilitate a smoother over all mouth feel. Sometimes it felt as if you had to choose between solely eating a piece of pork or enjoying the fried rice. The Pad Thai was to saucy for my taste. I prefer a traditional drier Pad Thai. The dish was good though, although I wouldn’t order it again.

In from out of town for our son’s wedding, I googled “Thai food near me (our hotel).” This was the closest place. So here we are.

My wife of 30 years is from northern Thailand. She’s from a big family, so we’re used to a combination of home cooking and street food. Every Thai restaurant we’ve been to in the past 30 years is measured against my wife’s family’s cook.

We were greeted and seated by Sean, who’s American born Thai. He’s so polite and courteous. The female server, who’s Nakhorn Ratchasima, spoke Thai with my wife, like they were cousins. Socially, it was a great experience.

Although there were just two of us, we ordered three appetizers and three entrĂ©es — moo yang with sticky rice, green papaya salad and Thai spicy sausage. The entrĂ©es included Basil pork, Combination Lad Nah, and Spicy Green beans with pork. Despite being hungry after a four hour drive, we ate until we were about to burst. Khun Fan and Sean stopped by several times to check on us. In my opinion, the food is comparable to what we eat in Thailand. Generous portions, great taste, authentic dishes.

As we were finishing, one of my sons called to ask where we were. When I told him, he brought his brother and his fiancé came and we went for round two.

I don’t give bad reviews; if it’s bad, I don’t write. If I write a review, I expect the food to be good. But I don’t exaggerate. The Thais have an expression — sweet mouth — which I translate as butt kissing. I don’t have any reason to exaggerate about the food....

After checking good ratings on Google 4.7 we want to try this place, we went there at little after 8:00 P.M. We waited there for about 5 minutes and gentleman came and informed us that we cannot dine as they're closing and it was 8:10 P.M. no hi, no hello, we were not welcomed there we felt, On Google the time says they close at 9:00 P.M. there were only 2 table guest were sitting and the whole place were empty, So he said we can order to go only, as my kids were hungry we ordered food to go, young man said they're closing early so wont let us dine in, kitchen closed at 8:30 PM he said I again told him its 8:15 PM but he decided that he won’t let us dine there, I requested him as I was with my kids and wife again he declined with solid rudeness, have no smile or politeness in his voice and face, and they need to have business hours posted everywhere, so the customers don't get confused and drive there, but they don’t care I guess, very unprofessional service, if my kids were not with me i will not even order food to go, I will never go beck to this place, there's plenty of choices in this area for Thai food and many more restaurant so won't be going there again ever. will not recommend it to any one either, they did not have extra plates to give to us they gave us Bowl, it was average food and overly...

On June 20, 2021 was our first experience at KC Thai. It must have been 90 degrees inside. When we asked about it, we were told that the serviceman was working on it. She said he was parked in back and was in the kitchen. However, when I look around the entire building, including the back, there was no service truck. I could even see into the kitchen and there was only staff members. I just hate being lied to. I guess they were trying to same money by not running the air. To make this worse, we called before driving there and, of course, they said nothing about how hot it was in there. We were literally the only ones dining in. Everything else was takeout. We were miserable, sweat rolling down my face. Beyond that, I willl say the food was excellent. The staff was friendly, but I can't recommend a restaurant with no air conditioning and that...
