Mi Ranchito — Restaurant in Overland Park

First time, and the reviews and the menu had us excited to try it. I waited awhile for the food (10+ minutes after it was supposed to be ready). The hosts and the guy at the bar was nice (not sure if he understood English but that's ok) but the lady behind the bar was contemptuous--I tried to speak some Spanish to her to be friendly, and I think that made her hate me more. Got home with my takeout order and the food was TERRIBLE. I'm not exaggerating when I say I could get better Mexican at the QT. The chips were fried in old oil (tasted awful) were cold and unsalted. The salsa was more like red pasta sauce. The guacamole was flavorless (no lime, garlic, cilantro or salt) and it was browning and not fresh. The green and red sauces with the bacon chicken appetizer both tasted the same and basically tasted like fermented flour---very strange. The nachos, taquitos and quesadillas were all not fresh and I could have had better if I had bought them frozen at Costco. Literally anything would have been better. We spent $70 and threw most of it away, and now I have a stomach ache from what...

Order placed online around 4:30pm on Christmas Eve. Order receipt (ID: k1j528g3-32606519) indicated food would be ready for pickup from 15 to 25 minutes later. Arrived at restaurant around 5pm and learned order had been overlooked but would be ready in five minutes. Was offered drink (which I thought was complimentary-- it wasn't) and waited nearly 30 minutes for order to be ready. Server checked bag and discovered the order was not complete so had to wait a couple more minutes. No apologies offered. When opening to go containers at home, saw that a crucial ingredient (cream sauce) to one entree was missing. Furthermore, food was barely lukewarm and had to be reheated. My entree and my spouse's entree were simply heaped into the takeout containers and were barely recognizable as what was what. I am very sympathetic to the restaurant industry during this time of pandemic but this experience, and frankly, the inept and irresponsible manner in which my custom was rewarded compels me to state that this business...

Came here for the first time last week. The service was terrible. We walked in and 3 employees at the front were all on their phones. Didn't even acknowledge us. Finally a guy came from the bar area and told us to wait while he went into the dining area and never came back. Finally a different guy came and asked us how many and if we wanted in doors or patio. We opted for the patio. After getting seated it took forever to get our drinks, then another very long wait for our food, which all three of us ordered different meals and not one of us were happy with our food. The server lack persoanitly and wasn't attentive at all during our visit. We were extremely disappointed. We were really hoping that this would turn out to be a fave neighborhood go to place.
