I have went to Toro Poke since around the time they first opened and loved the Roberts bowl. I remember talking to whom I think is the owner and how it was his creation.
Fast forward to current date and I believe it was the same person. Perhaps his passion for his business is not the same. I interrupted a phone conversation he was having and was advised that he didnât have enough angel hair pasta to make a Roberts bowl and he wouldnât be making anymore. Keep in mind, itâs peak dinner time, 5:45pm, and two hours before the mall is going to close(the business is located inside of a mall). I was informed he would close early, 7:30, if they didnât have a lot of businessâŚ.
So youâre going to turn away every customer for the next two hours if they order one of your main ingredients to your poke bowls. Why donât you just close now? Why wait until 7:30? Robert did get to make it back to that important phone call though, the one that was important enough to trump good customer service skills.
The teens that work there have a donât care attitude and I can see why now. If I owned or operated a business and turned away customers and revenue , I wouldnât imagine my business would last. If I wasnât an owner, I imagine I would be let go.
There is a good ending to the story though. I went to BIP BOP, across the street, for the first time. I am quite glad I did. Amazing customer service, food portions and they give you free miso soup! đ (oh and funny, when we got there the miso free miso soup was out but even though they werenât making a profit from cooking more, they said not to worry, there would be more in 5-10 minutes. We didnât even...
Read moreI'm so confused. I ordered snow crab, which I know is expensive. With a single drink, it was $24 on my debit card. That makes total sense. Crab is expensive. I got the bag of food and opened it to find no crab crackers. I went up and asked for a set to open my crab. They looked at me confused. Then told me that they needed a $5 deposit for the metal crackers. Fine. That makes sense. I get the money back.
I hold out my debit card again, and they say they need cash. What? I just paid with a card. It's 2023; I don't carry cash anymore. I said "are you f-ing serious?" I got kind of mad. The manager came out and told me to just please bring them back. I thanked them and ate my food. It was ok.
Brang the crackers back and the cashier held out napkins and asked ME to clean the crackers off! This scared me. You're not allowed to ask customers to clean. That's an FDA law. If they're lax on THAT law; imagine how dirty they keep their kitchen.
Clean your own stuff. Give customers the correct tools for the job. Heck, at Red lobster you at least get crackers for free, a little fork to open the crab, and they BUS YOUR TABLE. All for LESS than I paid at the mall.
This place had decent food. But the employees need to get their act together or switch industries.
Sorry for...
Read moreI want to give this place more stars, because we've always been repeat customers here. While the food, most times, has been good, this last time was very unappetizing and unsettling. We ordered our food and paid the extra for avocado in our bowls. What we got last night was a HUGE turn off. The avocado that we received was entirely brown and slimy throughout. It comes in a ball, like it's scooped out, and put on your dish. I noticed it immediately as I took the lid off of the bowl. I thought maybe it was just the sauce on top of it that may have discolored it for some reason. My husband noticed it too, so we immediately removed it from our bowls and mashed it down to see if it was just the outside, but the entire ball of avocado was brown and slimy. We tried to eat our food after removing the avocado, but unfortunately, we ended up tossing it out after a few bites. It didn't taste fresh and we just couldn't stomach it. If the avocado was sitting out and bad, what else had been sitting out and spoiled? Both of our bellies have been hurting this morning.. among some other not so pleasant symptoms. While I'm sure the manager wouldn't serve this up to a paying customer, I have to wonder if it wasn't a careless employee that served it up. Regretfully we won't...
