Edited in response to customer service- I’ve given one more star because customer service was fantastic once they responded after the weekend. I found a way to order the dress online in kind of a strange round about way. Customer service did follow up with an email, a voicemail, & another email letting me know the dress has shipped. I think they may just need more training, particularly with the one employee I dealt with on my visit. Than you for your response
Original review- I wanted to love this store. We went to the one located in Oak Park Mall in Kansas. We were shopping in the store for a prom dress for about 30 minutes before we saw the first employee. We had even been to the fitting room and still did not see an employee. No one greeted us when we entered the store. This was VERY different than the other stores we shopped. About 20-30% of the dresses my daughter tried on were broken but still on the floor. When I brought the first damaged dress we found to the attention of the fitting room attendant, she asked if we wanted the dress and that they could take 10-15% off the price. Although, my daughter DID like the dress, it would've cost more than the 10-15% they were offering to have it fixed. She also did not seem to REALLY care that it was damaged. She said she would move it to the back of the store but based on the sheer number of other damaged dresses we found, I feel like the put them back on the rack and hope no one notices before they leave the store.
Despite being turned off by lack of customer service, my daughter did still find a beautiful dress but the store did not have her size. We were told we could order online. I did ask about the store ordering it for us to make sure we got the correct dress but she said all I would need is a picture of the tag. The tag had several different numbers on it and she didn't tell me which number to use and acted as though I was bothering her. As soon as we got home (mind you we drove over an hour to shop) we attempted to purchase the dress online. HOWEVER, the dress was not available to purchase online in any size. After looking at their website, I can say that MANY of the dress in the store are not available online, which means the employee should have known this was at least a possibility but didn't care to look before we left the store. I then emailed the store about the situation and asking if they could check other US store locations and see if the dress was in stock and could be sent to their store or shipped to our house. The manager, Janet Rhodes, simply responded that I needed to call customer service. There was no apology about the false information I was given. It feels like they do not want to make a sale and it also feels like I'm an employee because I have to search around for the dress, instead of them just checking their system. I really just want an answer to know if we need to continue to find another dress that my daughter loves.
The pros are that the selection of dresses for prom, other dances, or other formal events was fantastic. Dresses were arranged according to color and there were so many colors and styles to choose from. (However, each dress only had about 3-5 random sizes and no stock in back.) My daughter wanted to go to Camille Le Vie as we have done in years past to purchase a dress for her since she was nominated to be on sweetheart court for her high school. We have purchased multiple dresses in the past and have always been pleased with the entire experience. This was not the case on Sunday, January 31st. We waited in line for about 30 minutes due to the Covid restrictions which was no problem, I understand the new guidelines. The young girl in front outside of of the store was very sweet and friendly. My daughter was very excited, this was an exciting time/event for her and it is her senior year. My daughter and I found multiple dresses to try on and I asked one of the girls standing guard outside the dressing rooms if she could put these dresses in a room for my daughter? She was so rude and said “ No, you will have to carry them around we can’t do that!” She could have easily offered to hang them on a rack by the dressing room, but that was not allowed. I understand your rules and regulations but kindness goes a long way, either one of these girls could have been helpful offering another place to set the dresses down. I would have just walked out after that rude statement, but I stayed for my daughter thinking this establishment must have a supervisor or someone who cares about customer satisfaction hereclearly not the case. These two ladies clearly did not want to be working here. The policy is that only one person can go into the dressing room. I understand that but I was not even aloud to even stand outside my daughters dressing room, but another mom was standing outside her daughters dressing room, helping her zip her dress and take pictures, but myself and another mom standing next to me were not aloud back to be with our daughters just this one particular mom. My daughter and I spend about an hour in the store, terrible experience. Not one person approached the counter to buy anything from this store. The girls working there never once moved from their guard post making sure that no guest came back to the dressing room!!! We found an Amazing dress at Dillard’s!!! Dillard’s has a better selection and the staff was so kind and helpful to us. We were offered a huge dressing room that I was able to be in with my daughter for this special occasion! We actually saw two other girls that were at Camille Le Vie shopping at Dillard’s too. I look at google reviews often before going out to shop, eat, vacation and much more and I hope others read this and decide to look at other dress shop options. Rules should apply to everyone! This makes me sad in this day and age we live in but this store operates differently than others. I understand we live in a different world with Covid rules and restrictions but we are all still human and should treat each other with kindness. Read moreThe lady that “says” she is the owner and manager of this store was extremely rude and my daughter left in tears! My daughter finally found the dress she wanted for homecoming and the “manager” could not get the security tag off of the dress. She looked at me and said , what do you want me to do cut it off, you’re not getting this dress. She did not even want to try and get the security tag off the dress. The other younger girl working, did try- but again the manager said I’m not dealing with this, I will have to send the dress back to the manufacturer as they place the security tags on the dresses. As we walked out my daughter in tears- the younger associate came out and apologized to my husband, children and I for the way the “manager/owner” acted. The dress was $100 and already falling apart anyway!
