Waited a few days before leaving a review so not to 'react' instead of responding to my experience. First OKLAHOMIES visit, I had no expectations other than exceptional food & service-which seems to be the majority opinion. I did not have the exceptional experience. I did not understand the place was a bar that served food, which is fine. Have no problems with the alcohol option. Being a small dining space, I sat at the tiny L shaped bar big enough for 4 people, 6 if squeezing. A woman I assumed was either/or the Manager/ owner, sitting on the short end of the L side didn't look up from her paperwork to absently ask if I wanted the drink special to which I replied I was there to eat. Asked for a menu & waited several minutes for the bartender to give me one. I selected my food- full size 'The Belle' burger ($9.50 Homies sauce, smoked gouda, bacon, pickles & onions) & half order of the 'Tater Salad' fries ($4.50 -Fries, cheddar cheese, seasoned bacon & Tater sauce). The bartender taking my order did not ask any questions & refused to take payment when I ordered. I prefer paying early so I can leave when I'm ready & not wait on the payment process. From the bar, I noticed the cook bringing food in from outside the building. After researching the place later, I learned the food is cooked in a food truck behind the bar. When my order was given to me, I was permitted to pay with a tip after asking again. I feel like food should be paid for regardless of any experience while dining.
The food: The fries were cold, in a small cardboard boat with unmelted shredded cheese, a little sauce swirled across & crunchy, small bacon pieces on top. Good flavors, but I expected melted cheese or at a bare minimum the fries being hot enough to melt the cheese.
The burger - according to the menu, I received a 'Spicy Monkey' instead of 'The Belle' I ordered & my receipt reflected the pricier burger. No problem, I like Spicy food & did not alert anyone about the mistake. My first bite, I noticed the bun was cold. After the 2nd bite, I saw I was eating a nearly raw burger. I stopped eating & showed the Manager/owner. Her instant reply was, 'Yeah, ours are medium unless you ask for something else when ordering.' Seemed obvious to me this was not her first time hearing a customer displeased with a raw burger. Clearly, she laid blame for my displeasure on me, not the cook. No. RAW is a request & not typical for any restaurant. I know the difference between raw, rare, medium & well done. 2/3 of this burger was RAW-which is not cooked. The burger was thin, not a thick burger, being uncooked is not good enough. An offer to heat my burger, maybe even an apology, would have been an appropriate response. Noticed in previous reviews someone usually responds from this place owning up to zero responsibility for anyone's poor experiences. Sounds like the same person. Thankful I had paid already, I got a box for my food & left with the hopes to finish cooking my food before eating more. REFLECTION: I wanted to enjoy OKLAHOMIES, but could not because of the food & uncaring service. Not anxious to try again unless cold, raw food served by flippant staff is what I'm...

I recently had an unfortunate experience at Oklahomies Mobile Gastro / OMG Lounge that left me quite disappointed and frustrated. This was my first time trying out their food truck, located at the back of the establishment, while the front portion is known as the OMG Lounge. Despite my initial optimism, the encounter was marked by significant issues that marred the overall impression.
Upon approaching the food truck, I was greeted warmly by the staff and handed a menu. However, what followed was a series of events that left me dissatisfied and disheartened. I was informed that my order would take approximately 15 minutes, which seemed reasonable. However, at the 20-minute mark, I approached the window to inquire about the status of my order, as I was the only customer present.
It was during this interaction that a blonde lady, who I believe might have been a bar manager, emerged from the food truck. She conveyed to me that the high temperature was making it uncomfortable for her crew to work outdoors, and they were also responsible for serving the patrons inside the bar. She suggested that I should consider placing my orders inside the bar in the future. This communication made me feel somewhat guilty for even placing my order and created a sense of unease.
As time progressed, I continued to wait patiently at the window, growing increasingly concerned about the extended delay. To my dismay, I overheard crew members inside the food truck engaging in what appeared to be a slightly mocking conversation. They remarked that it had been 40 minutes, seemingly finding humor in the situation and implying that I had waited long enough. This attitude conveyed a lack of professionalism and hospitality, creating an uncomfortable environment for customers.
When my order was finally prepared and handed to me, I was shocked to discover hair on the handle of the packaging. This oversight reflects a significant lapse in hygiene and food handling standards, which is unacceptable for any establishment, particularly one serving food. To compound the disappointment, the burgers I ordered were disappointingly soggy, further indicating a lack of attention to quality.
In conclusion, my experience at Oklahomies Mobile Gastro / OMG Lounge was far from satisfactory. The service was marred by poor communication, unprofessional behavior, and a lack of attention to food quality and hygiene standards. I was made to feel unwelcome due to the unfortunate weather conditions, and the subsequent behavior of the staff only added to my discomfort. I hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and works towards improving both their customer service and food quality in the future. IF I could give no...
Read moreI happened to stumble onto OGM today while looking at Yelp! for lunch inspirations. I had no idea this place had popped up right in my own backyard (well, Owasso, anyway). First off, OMG is a beer bar, so no one under 21 allowed. It's also small... as in 2 pool tables small. Immaculately clean and decked out for the space available. The 2 tables are in great shape and play well. For being a beer bar, OMG is a surprisingly nice and comfortable place. They only server beer, no liquor, but their selection is pretty impressive. Being it was lunchtime, I held my libation to a bottle of water. The menu is pretty simple... burgers and fries (or tots). 12 or 13 varieties of burgers and several variations on fries/tots are offered. For today, I kept it simple with The Beast burger (double patty smashed, Tillamook Cheddar, smoked Gouda, bacon, pickles, fried onions and Homie Sauce). To go with that, and order of Hell Yeah fries. These have a drizzle of Homie Sauce, a generous sprinkling of a garlic/parmesan/serrano pepper dust that is outstandingly different. The burger was quite literally one of the best burgers I've ever eaten, and that's saying a lot. As good or better than anything I've ever cooked myself. The meat was cooked to perfection (med rare in my case), and was the perfect burger texture. Loose, juicy, and almost like biting into air. Then the flavors from the cheeses and sauce rolled across my tongue and I got really, really happy. The fries were a small order and more than I could eat. The topping was definitely different, in a most pleasant way. I found there to be a little more than I like, so I kinda dusted some off, but that's just a taste thing with me, and in NO way detracts from what was an outstanding side of fries. All to often burger joints will focus on the burger and treat the side like an ugly kid sister, but not OMG. The fries are a partner to the burger in every way. Staff was ridiculously friendly and made me feel right at home. Had I not been there during lunch, when takeout orders were flying, I probably would have been able to shoot the breeze with them a little more.
Overall, best recommendation I can make is this.... Run, don't walk.... to OMG and get a burger. You're likely to bump into me, because I plan on...
