Unfortunately will not be going back to El tequila any time soon…. Not only do that add an automatic service fee but a credit card fee on top of that… I would normally blow that off but what I order led queso to go it’s 5.99 for the queso AND 5.99 for the chips?!? Are you kidding?? So if I order your queso from DoorDash for 6.88 would there be no chips?? I feel gouged. On top of it my meal was not at all what was described in the menu which could be a huge issue for individuals with allergies and sensitivies… consider me seriously disappointed UPDATE: PLEASE NOTE I DID NIT ASK FOR EXTRA CHIPS . Only queso.

I LOVE their SHRIMP COCKTAIL! Best I’ve ever had! And I get the fried ice cream when I saved enough room for dessert which I don’t do enough! 🤣 This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Owatonna because: The staff are all very kind people, some servers speak Spanish and English and the owners are kind, welcoming and accommodating! I brought my whole family here last June and my 3 yr old niece has diet restrictions and they were so helpful to get her what she needed! Great place, AMAZING food and reasonable prices!

I ordered the lunch burrito special with rice and beans. I asked for hot sauce and they brought out a special made salsa with habanero. I loved it. Perfect amount of heat and the food was delicious! This is a very good Mexican restaurant.

A friend came from Albert Lea to take me out for my birthday on September 3, 2019. We went in with my service dog Cherokee. (Who is very well behaved & gentle) After we were seated, I was told by the owner, that my 65 lbs. dog was supposed to sit under the table. Seriously? The owner stood by the table with his arms crossed, looking at us. I tried to get her to go under the table @ the booth we were seated at, but she couldn't fit underneath with 2 sets of legs. We felt intimidated & left. Even though we were the ONLY customers in the restaurant at that time. We went to one of the other restaurants in Owatonna that serves Mexican food & we were treated very nice & the waiter didn't seem to be bothered by Cherokee. I DON'T recommend El Tequila, if you have a service dog or want to be treated pleasantly. I know I will NEVER go back there again & told friends that have service animals about...

Very excellent service. As soon as you are seated you have fresh chips and salsa placed right in front of you along side your menus. I would highly recommend Tequilas Machos and an appetizer, they're nachos with some good cheese topping with some good meat, I'd recommend getting both meats chicken and beef on top. I personally enjoy the molcajete, but if you're looking for a good low budget meal, they have a combo menu in which they have some delicious pork burritos which has a nice lemony zest sauce that'll make your mouth water when you order it again in the future. My Fiancée would recommend the Shrimp burrito, she has it almost every time we go and...

Went here with a big group and had great weather for sitting outside by the volleyball area. They did a great job with the remodel and the outdoor space is really nice now.

The margarita was a little weak and the fajitas were so burnt the chicken cracked in half when trying to stab it with my fork.

Had it been just the two of us, I would have had the waitress take out meal back and correct it, but with a large group of would have been a disruption of everyone eating while we sat there and then vice versa.

Service was super good. The wait staff came by several times to check on us and refill drinks and chips. The ?owner? Came by to...
