Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que — Restaurant in Owatonna

There were seven of my family at lunch and all of our meals were very good. But I should have taken a picture of my dessert so you could see that I am not exaggerating when I say that the bread pudding was the size of a baby mattress covered in caramel sauce. And to top it off, it came with a scoop of ice cream and a dollop of whipped cream on the side. I looked up the nutritional information later, and it was worth every calorie. It would take only 3.5 hours to walk it off.

Our table hostess made us feel very welcome and took care of us during the entire meal. I will definitely stop in again the next time that I am in the area.

Although the other hostesses may be very good, ask for Allyssa, she took good care of me and my family. I have added her picture so you can recognize her.

Four days later...

My son and I were on our way back to Iowa from our family reunion and stopped in for a late lunch and to get a photo of the bread pudding.

Our hostess was Mariah this time, and she also took good care of us as well. Allyssa came in right before we left and recognized us and stopped by the table to say hello. It was very nice of her to do that.

If you happen to stop in for lunch or dinner, I would recommend asking for either Allyssa or Mariah if you don't already have a favorite hostess.

Wonderful tasting ribs, if there was a hard crusty top, they'll serve up another order. How great is that! NOW THE INSIDE! Blackish/dark floors, yes it showed it needed a good cleaning. DARK DOESN'T HIDE YUK!! Tables on the upper level to the left of the doorway- YEOW!! I scraped GUNK with just pulling my finger nails down along the grain of the wood TABLE TOP. The CRAP GUNK nestled in amongst the medal cage holder for the sauces-YUK!! next visit, we sat in the dining room. YUK!!! DUSTY DIRT WEBS HANGING, ANY PIECE OF DECO FULLY ENSCATHED WITH what would you call it DUST??!! EVEN ON THE WOOD WALLS!! No I didn't want to look under the checkerboard/gingham red table cloths!!!! OH YES, an over filled trash/garbage can to add to your dining experience, GROOSE!! Supposedly a clean up station, DANG!!! CLOSE IT OFF to the diners. Try & get hold of the TV show host who visits restaurants & tells the owners very frankly of the needed cleaning & some changes that the owners places could use. Your food can't be duplicated for the grand taste, but HOLY COW, would you enjoy that atmosphere? . Restaurant goers may leave a mess at home to enjoy a meal out BUT NOT there. Walk in to the to go area, no greeter or waitress (perfectly fine if busy, but only few tables were full and bar was closed), but hear chime of letting someone know some is there. Wait a few minutes waitress (guessing manager) comes out of the kitchen, delivers food to a table in a seating area, and then goes into the bar to scold two waitresses, not doing their job. Waitress comes out of the closed bar area and helps me with my order. Waitress read my order back, and it's correct, gives me a good time line and is expected perfectly fine. Get food and go home(30 plus minute drive), come to find out 2 of 4 orders were correct. Leads me to believe the kitchen is more distracted with there personal life then there job. Could hear their conversation the whole time waiting, swearing (not big deal) about family. Been there few times over year, been great service normally but this was unusually bad recently. On top of not being able order online is odd. Every where else can order online from. It's call to order or walk in. Food was good, not accurate in the order, staff was nice but not exactly attentive, atmosphere is good and clean, but hasn't been updated like any of the...
