Wagner's Lunch — Restaurant in Owatonna

The service is good, they notice you when you walk in the door and explain the specials before you ask. (order at the counter and they'll bring the food to you). The waitresses are very polite and felt sincere. The burgers were tasty and cheap, I bought an extra 1 after my first 2 and the total was still very reasonable. Now for the bad, this place needs some upkeep. They run food to the brewpub nextdoor which is where I should have gone. There are several beer banners and neon beer lights in the place but it doesn't have a beer license. There's also a cork-board behind the bar where people have sent various postcards from tropical places to the bar, each card having scantily dressed women (and a few with men). While at least there was something for everyone to look at, it seemed unprofessional, creating a dated atmosphere. It didn't bother me overmuch but I wouldn't bring a date within eyeshot of it. Looking above and below showed beerlights and other stuff that hadn't been dusted or cleaned in over a decade. It was the kind of grimy dirt and dust that you don't want near where your food is being made. Looking down at the floors behind the bar also showed a dirty lack of upkeep. I have had food from here quite a few times over the last couple years but I finally had my first dine in experience.

First glance it looks like your friendly neighborhood burger place. It feels warm and welcoming. It definitely did not give me any chain restaurant feeling.

I believe it was the owner who took my order and I sat near the grill and I was able to watch it all being prepared. He kept the grill nice and clean in between orders.

There are a few stools along the counter and a few booths and tables in the main area. There is more seating in the back along with some pool tables. I felt it was a little hard to find a spot to sit that’s why only the 4 stars.

Otherwise great place, great food and great atmosphere will visit again Really great...

Was in town for a few days on a public safety system install and everyone there told us to go here. They weren’t mistaken! It was good... no, amazing! It’s exactly what we were looking for. They don’t take cards, so bring some cash. Most daily specials are between 5 and 7 bucks. Comes with fries and a can of soda. Wished we would have found it earlier, cause it’s good every day of the week! Great tasting burgers... I’ve heard their breakfast sandwiches are amazing as well.
