Quality of food and service varies a lot. After going to garden for a while you tend to get a feel for the types of dishes to avoid and the ones to get whenever it's available. Stir fry is typically a safe bet, breakfast eggs can be anywhere from great to inedibly dry, etc. Things are generally kept nicer on parent weekends for obvious reasons. It's good to try and be creative when you have the option, otherwise you're going to get bored really quickly -assuming you're on the meal plan-. She never gave me independence and was always giving me guidance when I was perfectly capable of doing things on my own. And to make things worse, I also happened to deal with toxic co-workers along the way who thought it was okay to lash out on me just because they were having a bad day. Since it's a small dining hall, it basically keeps you working like a snail because there's hardly anything to do.
