Marco's has been our practical go-to place of late for pizza take out. Solid, reliable joint in Oxford that has a variety of of options and a quality of product to match to satisfy everyone's interests in the family (thin crust vs. thicker crust, meat vs. vegetarian only, various topping options). I order through the website and it's one of the best designed pizza ordering sites I've used (only once did I have a coupon use problem, but that got resolved quickly). Coupons/discount deal are regularly offered (or I stumble upon them) that makes Marco's a very good bang-for-the-buck place to get grub from. Also, the wings here are probably the best bang-for-the-buck here in Oxford (we've only ordered buffalo wings, and can endorse those). We'll still pizza at 6-n-Tubbs and Fergdnans (and enjoy the more sophisticated experience at St. Leo's) but Marco's hits a sweet spot of daily practicality, being close by to us for pick up/delivery, and reliable quality food. P.S., I like that they have 'old world' pepperoni and that we can easily have pies with...
Read moreStick to the pizza! We've enjoyed the pizza quite a few times so far, but decided to branch out today. Ordered a sub with no red onions - it ended up being piled high with them. I tried to get them all out, but missed quite a few that were hiding between the meat layers or melted into the cheese. Looks like I'll be popping the Rolaids tonight! The sub was promising otherwise - toasted like a grinder. We also tried the Cinna Squares. Not bad, but they forgot the frosting! I didn't notice until after I got back home and emptied the bag. I've gotten used to having to check my takeout orders at fast food places, but didn't think I'd have to here. Fortunately, the pizza was as good as usual.
I haven't minded paying a little more for a good pizza, but I almost always get something else (wings, sides, etc.) with the order. So even if the pizza's great, the team needs to be on target with the rest of the order. Otherwise, I may have to go back to the...
Read moreI walk in to order my food and tell the employee with EARBUDS IN HIS EARS that I want a thin crust pepperoni magnifico pizza with triple sauce and I had a coupon for a free cheesy bread (whole reason why I decided to try them). He takes my money and says it will be 10-15 minutes. I sit and wait. And wait. Twenty three minutes later my food is given to me...no big deal, I saw they were busy. I check my order, of course, it's wrong. I go to the counter trying to get someone's attention, then tell them my order is wrong, and repeated what I ordered. I heard the workers complaining, something about if that was what I wanted, I should have said so! I HEARD THEM!! Afterwards, I didn't repeat my order to just ONE other employee, I repeated it to 4!! After 40 minutes, I finally got the right pizza. I took my pizza, and by now my cold cheesy bread, home and vowed never to come back. My hard earned money can be...
