I used to enjoy Popeyes, but lately, it feels like they're nickel-and-diming customers at every turn. Want an extra pickle? That’ll cost you 30 cents. Craving more than two sauces with your 5-piece? Be ready to pay extra. The worst part was ordering a Coke, only to find out the soda machine wasn’t working after I had already paid for it. No apology, no alternative, just frustration.
It feels less like a fast-food experience and more like a constant upcharge hustle. For the prices they’re charging, the least they could do is include the basics without adding extra fees or be upfront about broken machines. Definitely reconsidering coming back.
Edit after the owners response:
I appreciate the attempt to respond, but this reply comes across as generic and dismissive rather than addressing the actual concerns I raised. There’s no acknowledgment of the specific issues I mentioned—like being charged extra for basic items or the frustration with your soda machine not working.
It feels like you’re just going through the motions rather than making an effort to engage or rectify the situation. No apology, no offer to make things right, not even a suggestion to contact someone who could help. For a business in the service industry, this kind of lazy, cookie-cutter response shows a serious lack of care for customer satisfaction.
If this is the best effort you can muster, it’s clear where customers like me stand in your priorities. It’s disappointing and makes me even less...
Read moreFirst time coming to the location and will DEFINITELY BE THE LAST. I placed my order 15 minutes before they closed the restaurants @10PM and I arrived 5-10mins before and they already had the doors locked. While the door was locked I talked to the girl in the inside and told her I had a pick up order. The girl mopping told this skinny girl that they had thrown it away. Minutes later the skinny girl comes with my food from the back I check it when I got to my car only to see that they added SPICY MAYO my order online clearly started I didn’t want any. I knock on the door and the girl mopping was SO RUDE she was telling her co works what does she want she’s back! Mind you I’m at the door listening to everything. Then she sends this other lady that’s had a black apron to the door to talk to me and I told her what was wrong with my order. The girl mopping said it would take 6 minutes and it’s been more than 10 and all to get my order and it to be under cooked and wrong! WORST...
Read morePoorest Service. The Popeyes on the corner of Channel Island Rd and Oxnard Blvd has closed prior to the posted closing times on more than one occasion. Today (March 15, 2020) I walked in at 8:55 PM (5 minutes prior to closing time) and the cashier didn't greet me and allowed me to look at the menu and provide him with my order. Before telling me that he could not fulfill my order because the only the only had about 20 pieces cooked chicken available. My primary issue with this location is the lack of communication I was owed as a costumer because I am responsible and willing to forgive the lack of professionalism by shutting down the kitchen prior to closing. However, allowing me to look at the menu and order knowing that there were only a few set meals there could fulfill with roughly 20 pieces of chicken is disrespectful and humiliating to me and unbecoming of the ethos of any...
